Girls’ Paperie: Jubilee basket

Time for another “as seen at CHA” project from the Girls Paperie.  This was a complete blast. A total “I know what I’m going to do today!” creative moment.

I got a wooden woven basket, and I cut/ripped off all of the pieces going around it. I did NOT alter the top, or the vertical wood pieces.

I just removed all the horizontal ones. The wood is pretty easy to remove – it only took a few minutes until I had this:

I just wove paper through (3/4″ – 1″ wide), and if the paper strip ran out, I just attached it to another of same pattern/width and kept going around! I used double sided tape (Scrapbook Adhesives crafty power tape), and just kept repeating for each new strip around the basket.

Once I was done, I added a scallop edged piece of paper, some ribbon, and crumpled/folded (pinked edge) paper around the top too. On the inside I added another strip of paper to hide an awkward spot too.

Because this is double sided paper, you can see it’s as pretty inside as it is outside!

A few more embellishments, and my Jubilee basket is complete!

Such a fun project – and with spring coming I totally recommend doing one of your own!!

Scrappy Crafty clearance sale!!

Everything must go!! Some of these goodies date back to my days as a scrapbook store manager, in the years pre-mommyhood. Some are things I just feel like need a new home. Others? Class surplus. Items that are extra or didn’t get needed after all. It’s all GREAT stuff – it just needs new homes and so, I’m having a scrappy sale.

#1: I am going to show photos of each “lot”. The price INCLUDES PRIORITY SHIPPING IN USA. (if you’re international email me and we can work out difference) When a kit is sold, I’ll delete it from this post. So if you see it, it’s available.

Important fact #2: I’m going to pack the boxes with more stuff. If there’s room, I’ll find some crafty treasure to add. Ribbon? Stamps? more paper? who knows. Depends on the box. I CAN promise you’ll be getting more than what is pictured. It’s a lot of fun.

.

It’s all sold out!!! 🙂 Thanks everybody!!! I hope you enjoy the goodies.

Tim Holtz Project: 10 things layout

Are you ready for another of my layouts that I made for CHA? I hope so! This one is using new Tim Holtz products, and once again features the AMAZING Kraft resist paper. LOVE IT! You can see above how the ink and mists react to the paper – adding color but still showing the patterns.

I added distress stickles to the metal wing (love that), I added a paper rosette, trim, and so much more… pure creative fun.

Here’s the full page:

My journaling is done on the kraft glassine that Tim is releasing. I printed my journaling onto white paper, then taped a sheet of the glassine paper over it (so I knew the printing would happen on it) and re-printed. Then it was just up to me to chop it up into strips! Works great!!

Of course because this is a classic “May” page, I had to add some more stickles. Also more of Tim’s stuff. This layout is 100% Tim Holtz products. LOVE IT!

Happy Crafting.

K&Co Valentine’s

I love Valentine’s Day, always have. I believe in making about love in general – not romance. I’ve been sending out a few fun “Valentine” packages (some early, some not very much related to anything) to a few people. I’m also sending out a few of these K&Co Valentines. LOVE THEM.

I got this kit at Michael’s and I LOVE how layered and textured and utterly customizable it is – quickly. LOVE!

Here’s what I did to mine. I’ve got a few bits & pieces left over now that I can scrapbook with too!
