I'm mrs. happy thanks to mr. campy!

So I’ve been waiting. and waiting. and waiting. www.scrapbook.com has had mr. campy (and other new cosmo cricket) papers up for a while now, but none of the embellishments. (tapping foot) Finally I e-mailed Lisa and she said end of August. Cool. I can live with that! Now I still *NEED* the stickers and the ribbon… I’m trying to be patient. I am not even a camper but I can totally see using these goodies on other things too. Oh yes, I’m looking forward to some creative sessions!

Yesterday morning, sick and trying to stay in bed I was cruising some sites and found a bunch of stuff at www.twopeasinabucket.com. I already had some stuff in my cart from last week… so I could finish that order with a little fun like this.

oh those stamps. ALL of them. Loving already. And this blackboard? forget it! must have.

Ok, and some cute paper from the Halloween line…

and since I had started that other order at www.scrapbook.com I got some cute papers and loving these journaling goodies too-

and this is why friends, it doesn’t pay to be sick. Spare time on couch with laptop = shopping. Ok, so I’ve been REALLY good not buying stuff for quite a while. Plus I’m going to start work on a bunch of new projects so I’ll use this right up.

Have I mentioned I can enable and justify like no other? If you ever need help just let me know.

a victorious dish.

It’s fact around here that Jason is ruler of meat dishes. He BBQ’s on a championship level in this family’s opinion. But not just BBQ, but roasted and cooked meats of all kinds. He’s the master.

I, on the other hand am master of baking and side dishes in this house. A job I am happy to have. We each have our place and we are very happy.

Now there are a few exceptions- I make some main dishes such as pot roast, chicken pot pie, breaded pork chops, and a few others. And there are some things (tacos, grilled chicken sandwiches, lasagna, etc.) that we both make equally good. In other words- we’re both into cooking.

Yesterday I decided to try a meat dish. Something I usually save for when Jason’s at work lest we have a “tuna scandal” episode (I ruined good ahi, I still hang head in shame) and I embarrass myself in the kitchen. Yesterday though, I did not care. I was itching to try one of Ree’s dishes for chicken legs. (photo from www.thepioneerwoman.com/cooking because we ate ours too fast to photograph!)

This is tangy and GOOD. I liked it, but the question would be what Jason thought. He LOVED it too!!! This is amazing, and once again Ree proves that she knows her good home cooking. Now I’m off to bake a pot of beans (inspired by her!) for later.

the junk drawer

First off, I must confess that SOMEHOW a cold has blown into my life. It’s so unfair. I worked out 7 or 8 days in a row, was doing really good on schedule and getting loads of rest. Then 2 days ago I decided to give myself a ‘pass’ and didn’t go to gym. By night my throat was scratchy. Yesterday throat hurt more. Today? Snotty nose and full blown sick. ugh. Bad news? this means my etsy shop is delayed… but I’ve gotta just stay in bed much as I can to beat this thing. The thing I dislike about colds like this is that the sore/watery eyes/runny nose slows me down physically, but not mentally. So my mind continues to race around DRIVING ME CRAZY until my body catches back up. It’s more annoying than painful, but I’ll be in pj’s in bed so that I can beat this quick so I can get back to the running.

Good news? I’m gonna sort some junk drawers.

I’ve got fun junk, and Jason made me do the slimy q-tip zicam cold treatment thing… so I’ll be back SOON.

yes, I am THAT GIRL.

It is a truth universally acknowledged that I love the opportunity to match scrapbook supplies to outfits/photo shoots. Not all the time, but once in a while I do. Example? We all wore red, white, or blue to the county fair and our group shots were so cute… and nobody quite knew why but me. (wink)

Now I am in love with the October afternoon stuff (that’s out and widely available) with the little deer and trees. LOVE IT. My secret mission in life has been to get Rebecca some outfits with deer on them so I can have a photo shoot and have one of those pages where the outfit just GOES with the paper.

No deer all spring/summer. No luck. Until last week…

It’s not “perfect”… but it’s dang close. Plus it’s so darn cute on it’s own I’d have bought it even if the paper + stamps weren’t burning a hole on my shelf.

Of course being that it was something like 108 here today, clearly I have to keep waiting for that photo shoot. Don’t worry- little R is not going to have to sweat for my deer obsession. I’ll wait for fall… I love fall. It’s my favorite season. The apples and the cooling weather and the colors and the holiday prep…

(tapping foot waiting for my least favorite season to end, and my favorite to begin!)

just a page-

Once in a while something doesn’t work out. Not just in life, but in scrapbooking too. I do like this page, but it didn’t make the final cut for my upcoming class, so here it is for your viewing pleasure. While I do like it, it just never found it’s place in class. That’s ok- it’ll be loved in my scrapbook…

Love the Cosmo Cricket paper + journaling card, the queen & co felt, and just the fun process it was making this page. Oh- and yes. That’s the threading water punch at work (again!). Happy Wednesday!
