ma! MEATLOAF!

If you’ve seen Wedding Crashers then you know most likely what I’m referring to in the title. Will Farell yells this to his mom… and cracks me up. I only saw that movie once, but that line has stuck with me. So much so that when the girls are being super demanding (or when we’re having meatloaf) I’ve been known to yell this. Just to lighten things up. Crack myself up. Anyhow…

I love this photo. So much. I just said “NO, you may NOT have more tomatos!!” Of course today she (finally) got her way and got to see Wall-E and claims she loved it. Not sure if she really did or if she just likes the theater… oh well. I got popcorn and milkduds, so life is good. Me? I didn’t love the movie, but didn’t dislike it either. Just wasn’t my bag, baby.

This wee monster. (sigh) so cute. Wearing a Jersey shirt that her aunt sent for her birthday. Elizabeth has proclaimed she MUST have one just like it, and luckily my mother in law found a 49ers one at her Target. SCORE. It’s especially funny because just 2 weeks ago I offered to buy Elizabeth the jersey and she said “no way!”… funny how a little sister having something (and being told she’s SOOOO cute) changes one’s opinion.

Well I hear someone yelling for meatloaf. (Ok, so it’s Rebecca and I think she just wants juice) Happy Tuesday!

in memory of good dogs…

I was thinking about it last night, and this is the first time since I was 4 years old that I didn’t have a pet. (Sorry fish- but I don’t count you in the same category. ) It’s very strange, and I will confess quite unpleasant. ESPECIALLY nights that Jason is working something is missing. My movie/TV buddy, my sidekick, my friend. The photo above is our memorial shrine to the three dogs we once had… and I don’t mean to be ‘debbie downer’ here- but it’s going to be hard to find any dog as awesome as ours were.

Angel- my sisters dog that we only had a few years- is pictured below.

I love that photo of her, and love that it hangs in our family room. While I know boxers have their health issues I’m leaning more and more towards that breed to look into for our future. Not any time soon- a 1 year old + a puppy does NOT sound like a recipe for a fun Christmas! But I am sure that someday, somewhere a new dog that is perfect for us will appear…

new article!

I love my job coordinating the craft content on www.fiskarscrafts.com. LOVE working with the talented designers, with Fiskars, and of course I like to organize so it’s such the job for me. Bonus points for being one I do from home (I will confess, mostly at night in PJ pants!) and part time. Good stuff indeed.

Once in a while I either throw myself into the mix- or step up when we’ve got a project needed (always last minute- lol!) that I can help with.

Today I made a mirror- so fun, cute and totally a great gift item. I’m going to be making some more small decor mirrors for my etsy shop soon. (really soon!) Also I’ll be making them for Christmas gifts. I think the mirror took less than an hour- and I had fun putting all the do-dads together just so.

To see the whole mirror and check out some other mirrors too you can go here: http://www.fiskarscrafts.com/articles/t_mirrormirror.aspx  I had fun helping out on this article and I hope you enjoy. Right now I’ve got a lot more content to upload. I put new stuff up on the site (articles and projects) every week, and today I’ve got 4 new things to add. Have a great day!!

crazy hair.

yes friends, it seems today’s topic is hair. Elizabeth told me just now “I don’t know what you doing mommy, but I like your crazy hair. you should have crazy hair always!”

c’mon tom.

I almost never flip through the movie (encore) channels. Why? Because I don’t want some movie to be on that I get sucked into. Last night Da Vinci Code was on… and sucked in I got. Know what my problem with the movie is? (love the book… movie is ok I guess) Seriously- my #1 problem with the movie?

the hair.

I understand Tom is good in the part. He’s got a scholarly, non-muscular look that the character needed. But the hair. WHY??? It’s almost as distracting as the sound of pierce brosnan trying to sing. (giggle, snort) Who sat down and said “you know, this hairstyle would be great!”

Speaking of that- I went poking around to see if there was any word on a new Dan Brown book (no release info found… drat) and I read this in his FAQ section on his writing process:

Writing an informative yet compact thriller is a lot like making maple sugar candy. You have to tap hundreds of trees…boil vats and vats of raw sap…evaporate the water…and keep boiling until you’ve distilled a tiny nugget that encapsulates the essence. Of course, this requires liberal use of the DELETE key. In many ways, editing yourself is the most important part of being a novelist…carving away superfluous text until your story stands crystal clear before your reader. For every page in a published novel, I wrote ten that ended up in the trash.

I like that. A lot. I know it’s a random subject today, but it’s the kind of thing I get stuck on. I’ve got to go do a ‘big wig’ photo shoot now…
