Scrapbook Layout with Crate Paper & 28 Lilac Lane

DSC_2233

One of my favorite things about creating with my new line 28 Lilac Lane? The kits and bottles play beautifully with all of my favorite papers, stickers, and other crafty supplies! Today’s project is a mix of the Just Peachy bottle, Attic Findings kit, and a lot of Maggie Holmes (mostly confetti line) for Crate Paper product.

This is a layout that was displayed at CHA – just love how it turned out! If you’re looking for some of these papers that I’ve used (affiliate link used) you can find them here at Scrapbook.com.

On Lilac Lane, a bottle matched up to my beloved Lilacs here that I have, has to be my favorite. Finding lovely shades of purple that aren’t too dark or blue is so tricky! So I’m thrilled that my new line is in stores (hooray!) and shipping now. Can’t find it? Ask! Or, stay tuned here as I’ll be letting you know as I discover stores that carry it. This particular bottle you can get now at any store – I know Ellen Hutson (affiliate link) has it in stock!

I used rose gold acrylic paint from prima to pair with this – and I LOVE the results! I used a thin enough coating to really keep the woodgran showing but still have that beautiful golden glow. Here is my YouTube video showing the process.

Cant’ wait to get this up in the studio…

Distress Bird Tag

DSC_2304

True story: This was one of my favorite projects to make lately, and it took less than 10 minutes. Crazy when that happens! From the bird stamp (one I found on clearance at Michael’s) to how fun it was to add bits and pieces from my new embellishment line – this simple formula for a tag is easy to do and a lot of fun!

To make a tag like mine:

  1. Stamp an image with clear embossing ink, then heat set with black embossing powder.
  2. Color with distress ink and a water brush
  3. Use a brown distress ink and blending tool around the entire image. Then spritz with water
  4. Add embellishments (I used Attic Findings and New Leaf- 28 Lilac Lane kits), gold mist, and stickers to complete the tag

Cork + my Paws & Pets kit = winning combination!

After creating the Ranger photo frame (posted last month here) I decided to see if I could make a different kind of project for Scrappy, but with the same basic supplies. When it comes to keeping a lot of neutral embellishments popping, I like to use a blue or green color for contrast.

For this layout I kept it really simple –  letting all those elements from the pearls to the buttons, beads, and of course the paw trim from the kit (link) take center stage!

adventure

We were in a shop that sells jewelry, little purses, and they also had some pre-printed canvases! When I found this one just a week before CHA I knew it would be perfect for a sample project! I used the Autumn Afternoon and Paws & Pets kits as well as the Toasted Graham bottle and a few winter blues buttons.

Oh yes, the kits & bottles in the 28 Lilac Lane line definitely play nicely together!

I just love how the beads look and how this came together! The feather charm from the autumn kit looks so good here – it’s a favorite for sure. I’m so excited that my line is officially online and showing up in shops! If you spot it, be sure to let me know!
