I broke into some of my new Tim Holtz goodies for this layout, and used my compass stamp as a base for my title – I LOVE using this stamp like this!
How-to:
1. Ink no.12 tag edges with blue distress ink, then mount two (3×5) photos to it. Adhere this to layout, cut off the excess tag that hangs over the edge.
2. Ink compass stamp with embossing ink, then stamp, coat in black powder, and heat set. Get out some UTEE in platinum while you’re at it, sprinkle it around the layout and heat from underneath (so the UTEE doesn’t fly away!
3. Stitch around the edge of the photos
4. Add gears & rub-ons to top. Then take travel stamp (stamp) and picked raspberry ink and edge along very top and bottom so just part shows.
5. Paint the #4 with picked raspberry distress, add to layout along with journaling and title stickers.
6. To finish the page, flick some dylusions for the blue dots.

Lovely layout May, love the compass stamp and the added stitching is a fabulous touch. Love the ink spots too. Lovely way to showcase your lovely photo. Tracy x
Very cool layout, May. I really like your use of Tim’s new rub ons and the Ideaology metal pieces that you’ve incorporated into your layout. That compass blueprint stamp looks really cool stamped right under where you’ve done some journaling. I like the simplicity of this layout…it’s very clean and really shows of the photographs! <3 Candy
Fabulous layout May! Love the combination of UTEE and mist splatter and the tag works so great as a photo mat. Great design!
What a great use of the tag!

Many congratulations May on being nominated as one of Tim’s Noteworthy Blogs! Well deserved.
I love how you brought the focus down to the photo and journalling and the clever way that you used the stamps to frame and pull the eye down to the focal element. I am not a design student but I notice things like that and I think you did a fabulous job. I cam here via Tim Holtz – glad that he mentioned you!
Huge congrats on being a Noteworthy Blog – fab layout!
