Crafty YouTube hop & personal favorites

Hey guys! Quick post and a heads up that over 100 prizes, and nearly as many videos are now up on YouTube as a part of a fun (mostly card making) video hop! You can find all the info and what you need to do to enter for chances to win here. I did a quick video about using my manila tag experiments to create cards. You can find that right here. There are five sections of videos that are all listed on that main hop page I linked to before – and today I wanted to share a few faves as well:

Double Embossing with Jenny Colacicco really caught my attention with ideas for embossing both dry and powder!

Teresa Morgan shares an awesome star with shadow technique that I’m loving and want to try!

Sunshine in my Pocket is embossing on wood – a fun idea and project!

Mary Polanco is editing a sentiment (and has my fave – Wonder Woman!) on her card video.

Sandy Allnock has some snowy mittens that have me inspired to get those Copic markers back out!

Magenta Butterfly Crafts is rocking a batch of distress oxide + floral cards that has me inspired to make a batch of holiday cards!

Hedgehog Hollow has me inspired to dig out some embossing powders and create more layers! Loving the technique and reminder to sprinkle + heat from below.

Sharon Curtis has intrigued me with her woodgrain coloring and wreath card! I’m going to see if I can use my woodgrain cardstock for a similar look.

Creativity is such a wonderful thing to share, and I hope you enjoy some of the videos (if not all!) shared this week by so many creatives. Have a great week!

My experience: Personal shopper for the fashion challenged

Let me start of by saying, I’m fashion challenged. I await the day fashionable means pajama pants and funny shirts. When that happens? I’m on top of the world! Until then, I struggle. Last spring I set off on a nearly two month expedition to find clothes that look good, were versatile, and didn’t break my budget. The journey had some up and some major downs! Today I’m just going to touch on what worked for me, as well as what didn’t, and what I can recommend.

Crafty Fall Foxes with ScanNCut DX

This fall I’m working on some new crafty skills – specifically embroidery and cross stitch! I’ll talk more about those in future posts. Today I want to share how I took my first real cross stitch project (yay!) and saved a lot of hours not to mention added dimension to it by using my ScanNCut DX!

note – I am a ScanNCut Brand Ambassador/paid consultant for Brother, but all ideas & opinions expressed are always my own. I love what this machine can do!

Above you see my finished project that now hangs on my wall – can’t tell you how much I love this little hoop! When I got to adding leaves I realized I would actually prefer dimensional leaves, and so out came my ScanNCut!

No tricks, just treats bag

I was playing with some 28 Lilac Lane goodies & a fun stamp (by Stampendous) to make a little goodie bag. I just love working with pen + goodies + ink and having a blast with Halloween making, of course!

The process here is SO simple! Stamp a bag.

Then add buttons & fun starting with a double sided tape base and adding in liquid adhesive by the small dot as needed.

Finish with pen detail if you like!

Oh, and don’t forget some fun stickles!

Before you know it you’ve got a treat bag ready to fill! What are your favorite Halloween treats? Do share!

You can do it, lovely friend.

The days are getting shorter and the lists of things to do longer. What’s a crafty girl to do? Today I just wanted to leave you a bit of encouragement, some “yes you can!” and general positive vibes. Recently I got hit (smacked, thrashed, etc) with a TON of negative happening all in just a few days. It was so brutal I thought – geez just give up!
