the kraft resist.

Oh I won’t pretend even for a second that I resist-ed purchasing the new Tim Holtz idea-ology kraft resist paper stash.

I’ve worked with them here before (you’ve seen my CHA projects), but now I have a WHOLE PAD… and it’s kraft (reverent whisper) and it’s every bit as fun as I thought it would be!!! So I pulled out a special drink (Curiosity cola, of course!) and got down to making both class projects + samples for my upcoming Kraft classes!

Not quite sure where I wanted to jump in, I started with the cover. Oh yes, the cover is even useful! Below you see me using my favorite stapler to attach trim that has been dyed with distress stain (my post about those can be found HERE)…

I’m still playing with this tag… but I’ve had some fun layering on stamping and canvas die cut flower and even some multi-medium to add a whole ‘nother level of resist!

Oh yes, my order from www.simonsaysstamp.com came in, and with it some shiny new (wood mounted, of course) Tim stamps…

I took out a library pocket (I can tuck a treat, a tag, or anything else I want in here now…) and played for a while with more stains and inks and…

Even used one of Tim’s seasonal stickers (LOVE THOSE!) and once again I’m stapling my lovely delicate trim. What’s up with that?! I am not quite sure, but I’m having a lot of fun.

Now I’m all warmed up and ready to actually open the package and play…

this is gonna be fun!

It’s a give-away {#2}

Oh yeah – more prizes and fun as the party rolls along!! Now I’ve got 2 packages of die cuts *FABULOUS* ones from Girls’ Paperie + Studio Calico AS WELL AS my #1 fave sweet treat right now: Hammond’s Lemonade Sticks. Adore them, and these three lovelies (as displayed on my new 3-tier dessert tray) are for one of you!

Just leave a comment here to be entered – one lucky winner will be drawn (April 25) – at same time all my Spring Break drawings happen. Good luck!!

Scarlet Lime canvas project

I’ve got some fun creative stuff up my sleeves – including some funky mixed media stuff – like this spring canvas…

It’s featured over at the Scarlet Lime blog today, and you can see the entire project as well as two videos that show my process from background to finishing touches. I used all kinds of fun stuff from the Scarlet Lime shop and made a royal mess as well.

I’ve said it before – I don’t have video equipment. I have beyond basic abilities with my iphone and that is it… still I think it’s a lot of fun and I hope you enjoy!  The videos walk you through my whole process so it’s really like a mini-class! If you have any questions feel free to leave me a comment here.

Keep at it.

When it comes to most any goal worth meeting, any dream worth wishing for, it seems to me there’s just one thing to do:

keep at it.

Keep trying to write even though your spelling is atrocious and you have to re-do sentences 5 times before each one is the way you want it. Take more photos if you want to get better at photography. Work a little harder on that diet if you want to loose the pudge, or run a little faster to get in better shape.

keep at it.

Today I saw that the always awesome Miss Shimelle posted her 1000th post, and I know I’m close to that number here on my blog so I logged on to see how close…

This is post #1000

It’s not luck that got me here, it’s that I love blogging, and I’ve been actively posting for a few years. That number doesn’t count the 100’s of posts I did at my first blog, nor my 100’s of posts as a lead fisk-a-teer back in the day… that’s just right here.

wow.

It’s a cool thing, looking back – but more importantly (and more fun too) I’m looking forward to all the ideas & content I’ve yet to share!!! I’m going to keep on crafting, sharing, and enjoying each new experience.

Thanks for joining me here  – for your support, comments, and general interest in a slightly whacked out mom of 2 who loves chocolate, buttons, trims, lace, kraft cardstock, and romance novels. (just to name a few obsessions)

xoxo

Ps: realizing that I hit this # during spring break, I’ve simply GOT to kick up my game with prizes and such!! So definitely stay tuned…
