5 reasons {and a prize}

Happy Friday everyone! I thought it would be fun to kick off the long weekend with a fun list (oh how I love lists) + a prize. Five reasons I can’t wait for Camp Scrap to start next month:

5.  Guilt-free scrapbooking. Oh I give you “assignments” and idea starters, but every student is free to choose whatever they want to do, and there is no falling behind or catching up. Just do what you like, when you like, save the rest as inspiration at a later time. BPS classes remain open forever – the materials are all yours.

4. I think doing video (and just verbal) chats on Skype is going to be so fun + inspire me to keep this place clean! Students can call me up (during set hours and/or by appointment) for scrappy chat – SO excited to do this!

3. Getting to give-away prizes from fantastic friends of camp like Evalicious, Catslife Press, and Scarlet Lime Bead Art to name a few. This class is PACKED with fun!!

2. The gallery. Every class I teach I do my best to comment on every student’s work. I spend hours going through the gallery and I view each and every project. It’s one of my favorite things about any class- seeing my ideas put into action in other ways. SO inspiring, such a treat for me.

1. Excuse to eat s’mores every day in the name of camp. Ok, that’s not really my #1 reason, I’d say getting to spend time each day with other creative people is what I’m most looking forward to. I enjoy Big Picture classes so much, and this is going to be such a fun experience I can already tell.

As I get ready to start over these last few weeks before class stay tuned here at my blog – I’ve got more NEW projects to share inspired by camp, and peeks into class. I’m getting into full crafty/campy/fun mode over here!! If you have ANY questions please feel free to ask here or e-mail me. I’m happy to answer!

Now for the prize… Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L is a friend of camp, in fact we’re going to have a whole sticky 24hrs or more where I give away lots of adhesives during class!! Recently I was asked to join their design team (so fun) and I have a little extra adhesive that I’m told I can share.

This beauty has become a best friend to me. It’s so very useful, as you’ll see in many upcoming blog-exclusives right here. Would you like it? Just leave a comment here – I’ll draw a winner on Tuesday… and PS – I’ll be sticking (yeah, I like adhesive jokes) some extra goodies in the package…

  1. Ohhh, I haven’t seen this tape but I can see myself using a ton of it….mostly to adhere decorative papers to my mini album covers. I’d love to try it! Thanks for the opportunity.

  2. You’ve twisted my virtual arm enough, I’m heading over to see what this camp scrap business is about. I try to avoid classes with “deadlines” because I just don’t get the opportunity to scrap often enough…but maybe I need the push. And it helps that there doesn’t seem to be any deadlines for this!

  3. WoW! Look like there will be lots of fun in Camp Scrap. I have to read more about it.

  4. okay May so far I’ve taken almost everyone of your classes and I’m so tempted to take ‘camp’ too! I’d love to win something fun!

  5. This looks like a fun product to try. Adhesives are oneof my scrapbook passions. Always looking for a good one!
Thanks for the chance to win some.
Looking forward to Camp Scrap. You always have such fun ideas. I love the no pressure. I always go through class stuff but tend to feel guilty when I do not finish assignments (which happens to me all the time). Actually, it’s life that get in the way. Nonetheless, I’m looking forward to some summer fun.

  6. May,
I can’t wait for class to start! Your enthusiasm is extremely contagious and as I never got to attend camp as a kid, I decided now was my time! BPS classes are so much fun and I know your class will be, too. Thanks for the chance to win!

  7. I can’t wait for Camp Scrap to start!! Bring on the craftiness (& the S’mores!)!!!

  8. Hi May!
The class sounds terribly tempting…you’re making it very difficult to pass up. 🙂 I just have to make sure my travel schedule doesn’t conflict too badly. I just can’t pass up another class from The Fabulous Fraum!

  9. OHHH – I’m just putting together a concert poster and tickets and really need good adhesive – Wonderful giveway thanks for the chance! Have a wonderful weekend 🙂

  10. S’mores should definitely be #1. 🙂 That adhesive looks awesome- I’ve never tried it before, but with the May Endorsement, I’m sold. Thanks for the chance to win!

  11. Well, May, I had about talked myself out of signing up because of so much going on this summer, but everywhere I turn on the internet, I see you or Camp Scrap. So I’ve about decided I MUST take this class! It’s meant to be! And chocolate is ALWAYS good, in s’mores or not!

  12. Camp sounds fun! I will keep an eye out for the tape. I have not see that yet and I am out of photo tape and it has gotten so spend-y.

  13. I Love discovering new adhesives! Never used this one before… thanks for the opportunity!!

  14. That’s a big reason I wanted this class for summer – so that you could scrap, pick and choose assignments (or just loosely based inspiration!) at will, and do your own thing. Heck – even if you just have time to check in & enter for prizes it’ll be fun. 🙂

    Hope to see you there!

  15. Now that’s my kind of camp. Great excuse to scrap…but there’s other pressing things that need my attention first. I love the fact that one can do the projects in their own time.

  16. I just finished signing up for Camp Scrap, then I came to your blog for more inspiration. I am excited to be camping with you this summer. And adhesive, never can have enough of that. Thanks for a chance to win.

  17. I’m looking into this BP class. Been wanting to take one and this might be a good place to start.
    Thanks!!

  18. Would love to try that tape. Congrats on the new design team assignment. Looking inot camp could be a possibility

  19. What a great project!! and thankyou for introducing this new adhesive. I would love to win one just to try it! LOL Thanks so much for the opportunity and I hope you have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. 🙂

  20. I would love to try this tape. The right Adhesive for the right project has always been a challenge to me.

  21. I signed up for Camp Scrap last night and can’t wait!!! I am getting my space ready and I am so looking forward to this. The class sounds just perfect! Thanks also for the amazing prizes you offer. 🙂

  22. I can’t wait for Camp Scrap!!! This will be the first class of yours that I have taken when I am not working. I will actually have time to scrapbook instead of saving it for vacations!

  23. You make me laugh!
Would love some adhesive – it seems to be one of the things on the ever-elusive hunt for something perfect.

  24. Well you know me, I’m always up for a give-away! I am sooo excited for this class. Summer is only 2 weeks away for me :0 Bring it on May, Bring it on!

  25. Just found you via BPS, I think scrap camp looks like a lot of fun. I am on holidays during some of that time, so I am thinking that ‘going to camp’ would be great.
I loved going to camps as a kid . . . maybe we’ll see each other there 🙂

  26. Hey I’m thinking of joining up for this scrap camp….my ONLY concern is that I work full time during the day and I really only have time to scrap weekends. I’m thinking of ‘giving up’ my other classes in the LSS for these 5 weeks, so that I can do this camp. do you think this would be enough time? oh, and also I live in Brisbane Aust. so there would be time differences of course. I am on skype so no issues there! that would be GREAT fun to actually eye ball the peeps around the world :0 :0 looking forward to your replies. so I can decide xx

  27. Have fun at ‘camp’.
Thanks for the chance to win some adhesive – a scrapper can never have too much lol.

  28. Camp may be just what I need to get the creative juices flowing. I’m sure I’ll need LOTS of adhesive! Pick me! Pick Me!

  29. One can always use sticky tape! MMMmmm Smores! Might have to break out the sleeping bag and pitch a tent in the backyard!

  30. I can definitly say that you do do number two on your list as you have commented on a few of my pages that i did when i was in one of your BPS classes, and i was so chuffed.

  31. Wow May, I have never seen that kind of adhesive-I can’t even fully understand your picture! But it looks great. We can all use new and better adhesive!
I love to hear you when you are on Paperclipping Roundtable and I go to the Scrapbook Update a lot (I’m a subscriber), so keep up the great work!

  32. Congrats on making the design team and thanks for this great giveaway!

  33. Great question!

This class is going to be VERY flexible for time. If you can hop on the internet in the morning (or evening) and just check your e-mail you’ll see what the current contest/give-away is quickly. Then, when you’ve got time on the weekends you’ll find chat, skype hours, and of course you’re welcome to scrap away!!

There are no specific “must do” items, so you’re really free to work at your own pace and simply ENJOY the experience. The bonus 5th week is assignment/new layout free so you just have more interaction/scrap time!

If you have more questions or anything please do let me know – happy to help and/or clarify!

  34. I am very intrigued by the Camp Scrap concept, sounds so fun and whimsical. And, of course, I love your pun about the adhesive…

  35. I’d love to try some of that adhesive! Scrap Camp sounds fun…if only it could really be spent on the lake among creative people for a whole month!

  36. I’m a new fan and would definitely sign up for CampScrap this June. I have been a student of BPS and I just love the classes that they offer. And thanks for the chance to win this awesome giveaway!

  37. You sound so excited and ready for this! And being asked to join design teams is so exciting too, congrats!!

  38. I really enjoy taking classes at BPS. All of the classes you have taught have been great. I can’t wait for Camp Scrap to start.

  39. I haven’t seen that adhesive before.

    Looking forward to Camp Scrap.

    Cheers.

  40. Sounds like great adhesive. I’ve been on the lookout for a really good one lately. Thanks for the chance to win.
    :)sharon

  41. Oh I love that adhesive! And I think s’mores are a perfectly acceptable reason to love camp! Thanks for the chance to win.

  42. Yes and no.

the sketches, design and story prompts, even the PSD template Ali Edwards provides to class as a bonus at one point could all be very much digital used/applied. Substitutions of digi for paper would be very easy.

Now, I did not think about digi-specific stuff when making this class, so there are likely some big tips and technique ideas that wouldn’t apply, and the prize drawings are for paper supplies which might not interest digi scrappers… thus my reason for saying “yes and no”.

I can clarify more if you’d like – I’m happy to talk about it. 🙂
