28 Lilac Lane with Buttons Galore – CHA 2016 booth

Today I’ve got a photo tour to share with you of my display in the Buttons Galore booth of my new line 28 Lilac Lane! My line has 12 kits (MRRP 8.99), 12 bottles (MSRP 4.99) and 6 sequin tins (MSRP 2.99) – so let’s take a look!

Each kit is displayed in an embroidery hoop as well as in its packaging. In the center you can see a display of what the colors/contents are within each bottle.

The bottles have sequins, beads, 1/2 pearls, and buttons. So many fun combos! Fun fact: every single bottle and kit has a story behind  the name and inspiration of how it came to be.

For example – the dragon fire (red) bottle is an ode to my eldest daughter who adores dragons + the color red. Toasted Graham (brown) is a nod to our rescue pup scrappy, as one of the colors is perfectly matched to her ‘graham’ coloring!

The little table in front of my display is where I did demos of the product line and spent time chatting to designers, store owners, and friends about the line.

So great to see so many friendly faces – and to share ‘sunshine’ with people too. Pictured below is Sandy Allnock – a dear friend, amazing artist, and lover of all things orange.

So cool to be able to show people what I’ve been working on and see all of the fellow creative people that share a love of embellishments and pretty buttons!

If you’re wondering about my samples/projects – some of them have already been featured here and those that have not will be featured in the coming weeks/months. 28 Lilac Lane will begin shipping in February to stores! If you’ve got a favorite store and want to see this line in stock do let them know they can contact Buttons Galore for information and wholesale ordering.

I didn’t get to walk the show floor as much as I’d like, but I did catch a few moments with some of my favorite people like Shimelle! I created her a custom blend from my line that will go with her amazing new line Star shine perfectly. I also had the chance to film with several people – including Christine of ScrapTime! You can see an exclusive demo video I shot for her here, or watch me pick out some favorites from the 28 Lilac Lane here.

Hard to believe the show is over – but now the real fun begins!! Soon the line will be shipping to stores and you’ll get to enjoy playing with these embellishments as much as I do! Thanks for reading and for all the great comments and support about my line!

I’m back from CHA – and it’s time for another 28 Lilac Lane tutorial!

For a project like mine you’ll need:

  • small wood birdhouse
  • white paint
  • liquid adhesive (PPA is what I recommend) and double sided tape/adhesive sheet
  • 28 Lilac Lane embellishment jar or kit (I am using the Attic Findings kit and Birds of a Feather Jar)
  • Optional: stamp, ink, glossy liquid sealant, and glitter glue

Here’s a link to my YouTube video tutorial.

Here’s my finished house, all ready for a spring display!

Good day card

Today is a good day! This is a card that I created for CHA (this weekend! Eeeeek!) featuring the New Leaf kit in my 28 Lilac Lane line. As you can See I added little bits and pieces (as I do!) and used a pretty stamped bouquet and some watercolors to bring it all together.

Want to see the full line? Buttons Galore posted photos here!

In the meantime, I’m off to pack up for the big show! I will be doing some best-of/recap posts here on my blog after the show for sure. For ‘real time’ posts be sure to follow me (or just view) my instagram @craftwithmay.

If you’ll be at CHA be sure to find me at the Buttons Galore & More booth – I’ll have some special button give-aways! Not at CHA? Remember stay tuned I will have some to share with you as well…

28 Lilac Lane: Decorated frame

It feels so right to kick off the new year with a brand new project tutorial featuring my own embellishment line! As a note, my line 28 Lilac Lane is going to debut at CHA this weekend, and will be shipping to stores soon! I will be sure to keep you posted on that. Will you be at CHA? If so, please visit me Saturday – Monday from 10-1130am or 4-5pm at the Buttons Galore & More booth! I’ll be doing demos and I have some special goodies that you want to be sure and ask me about!

Back to this project – this video and project features the Tropical Twist embellishment kit, but any kit will work for a project like mine you’ll need:

  • Wood or metal photo frame
  • liquid adhesive (I recommend PPA by US Art Quest – here’s an affiliate link to amazon)
  • an embellishment kit
  • Optional: Glossy sealant such as Glossy Accents; glitter glue, or glitter

First look: 28 Lilac Lane

Guess what? The sneak peeks are rollin in! While I don’t (yet!) have peeks at all of the various boxes and jars of embellishments that are coming soon, I do have a few and I am so excited to share some peeks with you! I also created an introduction video – you can check that out here: Link to YouTube

New Leaf (below) in its box – perfect for spring! Above you see a few attic treasures – and the box it’ll come in!

I will be doing demos and chatting with people at CHA when this line officially is revealed, and I can’t wait! In January video tutorials and ideas will be shared as well, and this line should begin shipping early 2016 so you don’t have long to wait.

I am so excited to see this line come to life! So many colors, textures, and details. If you want to see continued peeks follow me on instagram (@craftwithmay) – otherwise keep reading the blog here as I will begin sharing tutorials & project videos in just 2 weeks.
