Mother’s Day Card 2018

Once in a great while, I follow a creative idea and it turns out even better than I hoped! This is the case with this card, and I am so glad I decided to film the process so I can share the how-to with you as well!

It all began when I was rifling through some of my new Maggie Holmes for Crate paper die cuts. I haven’t been buying ANY die cuts, but I couldn’t resist these and I want to work on using them up! The way this progress began is that I just mixed and matched die cuts, as well as looking for things that would go well together on a card. One more thing- I also try to use things I don’t think I’ll use in my scrapbooks. This is a great way to get it all used!

I finished off this project with assorted 28 Lilac Lane sequins – I really love how all those textures came together, and I love that the card itself isn’t too bulky to mail! For all the details – here is my YouTube tutorial.

Have I mentioned I love this card? I really do! The color as well as the texture combination is a favorite and it was easy too! I love using up die cuts on cards – and using my stash in general! Looking for another card idea? I’ve got an article up at Scrapbook.com featuring a button covered card.
