Craft With May

I weighed in today 10 less lbs than I was just 4 weeks ago. Totally feeling great about that!

Some people go on extreme diets or follow (in my opinion) freaky rules and things they can’t eat. The problem I have with that is it’s not maintainable for me. I’ve made really good healthy choices and changes in my life, but I’m not about to become a slave to some rules that in 3 years may be proven to be total crap.

Anyhow- my point is limited calories + exercise + plenty of water is working. If you’re struggling with getting healthy as I have I can’t suggest a simple plan enough. Easier to stick to and maintain.

In other happy news I got a good haircut. Hard to tell in this photo but it is. I’ve had a few bad hair experiences in my life, but the lady who de-highlighted my hair back in 06 definitely knows her stuff.

(ps- yes that’s a cubs shirt Steph, and indeed the only sports item of apparel I own)

I’m cleansing a few random bits and pieces, and odds  are that by end of day I’ll have a few more goodies to put in an envelope including what you see above.

This year we skipped a big party with all the trimmings, and instead kept it simple for our darling Miss E. Starting with a chocolate sprinkle  donut and special balloon at breakfast.

Followed by playing with sister (and her favorite lunch- a costco hot dog!) Oh, and presents being opened as she felt like it.

Just a reminder that great birthday does NOT have to = big production. It was a fun and relaxing day for everyone, and the birthday girl even got to stay up LATE (8pm) so she could see one of her favorite shows on the Discovery Channel. Exterminators. (yeah, she’s a weird one)

PS- the cupcakes are white cake with pink jimmies in them for added pizazz. Then frosted with butter-cream or chocolate. She couldn’t decide so I did both. The whole tower is topped off with some my little pony birthday stuff I found months ago and knew would make cute cupcake tower decorations.

so one rainy day I was a bit bored and decided to see if miss R’s hair is finally long enough to put up.  That’s what we’re calling the teeny tiny ‘poofs’ of hair that are the girl’s pony tails. It’s crazy cute- the hair (has to be done wet!) curls up in a teeny ringlet type thing.

Then, when she pulls them out hours later she looks a bit like princess Leia. (no photo of that yet, sorry)
