Disneyland, E’s take:

* Fairies are tiny, so why are the fairies at disneyland grown-up size? That was scary!

* Cotton candy rules.

* Wearing a princess (or fairy) dress just makes everything more fun!

* Thunder Mountain and Matterhorn seemed like good ideas at the time, but I ended up very scared and I’ll try again when I’m a grown up (like maybe 7 years old)

* Sleeping Beauty likes pink (like me). I like her but sometimes I get shy with princesses. (Becca wore my old cinderella dress. She’s a cute baby)

* One stuffed animal isn’t enough. I wanted so many! Darn mommy and daddy for making me pick just one!!!

* I miss Disneyland already.

disneyland.

Ok, so I have a confession.

All these posts I’ve done this week were pre-scheduled.

What do I mean?

Last weekend I sat down and did a bunch of blog posts, and we’ve been in Disneyland for the past few days. It’s been about 18 months (too long!) and we have been planning and been excited for this trip for a very long time.

For me, Disneyland is a magical happy place. It’s so filled with creativity, imagination, wonder, and joy I couldn’t not love it. I always feel so happy and even recharged when I go there. Definite happy place.

This is a layout (from my scrapbook recipes class- which should be re-run at BPS in future!) from our first time at Disneyland with Miss  E (age 18mo). I can’t wait to start scrapbooking this latest trip!!!

Since we are back home now I’ll be uploading and sharing photos soon as I can. Hope you have a magical weekend!

minnie ears

So I found this minnie mouse ear headband in a drawer (it’s from a Halloween costume).

Then, knowing we’re going to be in Disneyland soon and thinking I could alter it somehow to not be ORANGE anymore I did this:

I just cut off and re-covered that existing bow and then added my own fun accents to the middle and finally sewed it back onto the headband. I think it took about 45minutes, and now I’ve got a headband ready for the happiest, most magical place on earth!

my current project-

I like to collect postcards, brochures, and other fun stuff when I’m on vacation. Unfortunately sometimes that fun stuff piles up and gets forgotten come scrapbook time.

Not this time! I’m scrapping this trip to Scranton, PA + several other trips (all 2-page layouts) for my upcoming project now class at www.bigpicturescrapbooking.com. I’m still working on this- but stay tuned and I’ll tell you when it’s going up!

corkboard.

I’ve had the same corkboard since… jr high? anyhow, it remains a fixture in my studio (right behind laptop) and I thought I’d share a few pieces that have been up there longer than I’ve known my husband. (12+ years)

I was 13 or so, and this button rocked my world.

A personal favorite- this cartoon strip starts with the man getting a warning (vs ticket) from cop, and ends with the awesome Grimm giving him a fashion warning.

another gift. I don’t wear buttons, I just stick  them up on my board.

That’s it from me for now- I’ll share what I’m working on currently in a day or two…
