new loves | alphabets

I’m back home, and I want to share a lot of my photos and a lot of my favorites from the CHA show. Now – I didn’t photograph EVERY favorite, nor can I share everything I love. So don’t think of my “new loves” series of posts as an all-inclusive list but rather some of my faves….

First up – Studio Calico’s map alpha. Every single thing in that booth is MADE OF AWESOME, but I really do adore these. How much fun are they? You could totally ink up the edges too.

Buddy is back…

Buddy returned this weekend for his second year of being our scout elf. Becca was concerned he might come to life and eat her brains (wha—-?) but then after we re-read his book she is convinced he is kind, but still won’t speak to him. Elizabeth on the other hand will not stop talking to him about her toys, things she wants, questions about Santa…

Which reminded me I have this layout about Buddy that I’d created for Tim Holtz (CHA-Summer) that I have yet to share:

Our house rule is that you can hold/kiss/hug Buddy ONCE on the day he arrives, and again on Christmas day before he goes back to the North Pole. But you’re not allowed to touch him otherwise (per the book). Sometimes Buddy forgets to move (whoops) – we think it’s that he forgets where he had been parked or just really likes a specific spot.

May’s 2011 Holiday Planner

There’s no such thing as too early to start planning for the holidays, and I delighted in creating several holiday projects for display at the summer CHA show for Tim Holtz. When I saw this old Nancy Drew book that was 3 books in 1, I just knew it would be the perfect size to pair with a Tim Holtz large binder ring and create a Holiday planner.

Adding in paint, tissue tape, and making the most of the Christmas Kraft papers was all super fun. I love how my book turned out!

Here’s some shots of the inside. I used tags to divide my sections…

I kept it pretty simple (well, simple for me!) and didn’t stress about perfect anything. After all – this is a book that will be thrown in my purse, hauled around, and otherwise abused all season long!!

can you tell I had a GREAT time making this project? Love it. Today I’m starting to fill it up with lists too! I LOVE holiday lists. *happy sigh*

As far as supplies go, you could use ANY assortment of papers and goodies. That said, I’ve compiled a listing of every single thing I know I used in this book in case you’re wanting to know some specifics.
