It is no secret that I love using up bits and pieces to create cards. This lets me put things to use and reduce my leftover pile, as well as make cards ready to send for holidays or just because! In today’s post I will walk you through and share a video of a recent creation.

One of the things I say a LOT is that just because I love a product, doesn’t mean that it will be easy to work with! So when I find pieces such as the swirly tag and big vellum leaves in an ephemera/die cut pack? I make a card! I tend to work on a flat paper, adding a folded card later so that if I make a mess, stitch, etc. then the “ick” won’t show through into the finished card.
I placed the three pieces onto my card and stitched around (substitution: use black pen). Then I added my sentiment (who doesn’t want to leave a bit of sparkle & shine behind?!) and the fun really begins!
Supplies used include:
- Crate Paper ephemera
- 28 Lilac Lane stormy jar
- Heidi Swapp Gold mist
- Amy Tangerine stamp
- Archival ink
- Tim Holtz phrase sticker
I absolutely love what this little heart stamp brings to this project!
Notice that while I “made a mess” and had some fun, I really didn’t add bulk or a lot of weight to this card. Be selective, pick and choose your spots for embellishing and just enjoy the process!
Here is a quick YouTube video showing my creative process for this card as well.
Between the sequins and the mist splatters I adore this card – and I hope I’ve inspired you to get out some leftover bits and make a project of your own!
Great card. Thanks for the inspiration!
The card looks so good, without a ton of effort. I always enjoy seeing what you do with such different elements.
This card came together so well!
