In between assignments and projects I’ve been working on our Disneyland album…

The American Crafts polka dot paper (part of the craft fair line) totally was perfect for the photos, as was the effervescence border punch by Fiskars.

I used a decorative corner punch on the big photo – something I don’t usually do (along with matting) but I like how it turned out.

The girls and I took the day off Saturday and headed up into the Sierra Mts. to visit my grandma, aunt, and mom who are all living in my grandparents 1 bedroom/bath cabin with a loft. I asked if it was a non stop party and got evil eyed, so I’m guessing it’s not quite the slumber party all the time.

The girls didn’t notice that though- they just saw all the fun I used to see as a kid. Snow patches, wild animals, plenty of space to run free? score!

Note she’s wearing rain boots. It was warm and slushy snow – plus I don’t have rain gear. It sometimes boggles the mind that just 3hrs away is snow and cold… meanwhile we’re wearing tank tops and shorts back at home! Anyhow- the girls ran and played with my mom’s little dog, stomped in snow, fed birds, and played with great grandma’s cool shells.

While I was there I got to pick out a quilt. (insert happy dance here) I’ve not had a quilt of my grandma’s for years (the girls both have baby quilts though) and I was very excited. She’s a master quilter. A true artist and her stuff is amazing. I picked a napping quilt.

That’s mostly hand stitched goodness – that’s how grandma rolls. Just another reminder that hand crafted goodness is always loved and appreciated.

Oh, I told grandma about my 1/2 stitched and 1/2 pinking shear trimmed curtains and she pursed her lips. (aka sign that grandma is not down with what you’re saying/doing) She would NEVER hang a curtain that wasn’t fully finished. I laughed and told her I like to live on the edge.

because that’s how I roll.

Hi. I’m here in my crafting dojo working on a number of things. Paint + cardstock are two major players, though a lot of scissors and fun are coming into the mix too. First – can you help me figure something out? what is this stuff called? You can buy it on a spool near ribbon I think… what do you call it?

12

Honestly I don’t know what to call it I just know it makes AWESOME honeycomb like pattern on my paper. Can you help me?

Currently I’m drooling over the new Cosmo Cricket that’s coming out soon, having fun playing with some Basic Grey (marrakech), looking forward to the arrival of some new cardstock to try out, and working on secret things.

Secret thing #1: my 2and project now class for Big Picture. (SOOO FUN – more coming soon!)

Secret thing #2: my article for www.fiskarscrafts.com that goes up June 1. (again, more coming when I can!)

Secret thing #3: a summer project for above mentioned website that will involve not only the Fiskars Design team, but also 14+ top crafters who blog sharing ideas and lessons. It’s going to be AWESOME and I’ll share more when I can.

I know, I should make a record and play it on repeat ‘I’ll share more when I can…’ Hey- but at least I shared my secrets!!! While I get back to work on all of that I will leave you with this for the weekend:

Miss E posing in her workout wear (crazy cute) that I wish I could pull off. Not yet. Still not loosing pounds this month… but I’m keeping at it and working out the hardest I ever have!!

dear kid.

Hey E, it’s mom. So it’s frustrating that your idea of a cute photo is this:

Where is the beautiful little girl I know and love? Why must she hide when the camera is seen? (sigh) Once in a while I catch a smile or nice face, but mostly you want to make weird faces like daddy does. I’m ok with that – just know that you can’t get mad when you’re older and wonder why there are so few ‘pretty’ pics compared to so many goofy ones.

Also, don’t blame me if I try more with your sister who is currently in HAM stage. You say smile to little sister and she’s ON IT.

Honestly, so cute.

Silly is good too… but cute will always get more scrapbooking face time so be warned.

Love you always and no matter how you choose to smile at the camera –

mom.

little bit ‘o tink

Elizabeth insists we go to pixie hollow 5x the next time we’re in Disneyland. HA! She wouldn’t even go near a fairy, but she says next time maybe she will. In the meantime, I’ve scrapbooked our photos + the autographs Rebecca got…

tink-2

Hmmm… how to fit it all in? (I love ‘in progress’ photos)…

tink

It’s simple but used up some old EK Success tink stickers, a clothing tag, and of course the autographs themselves!
