2018: The year of Ultra Violet

According to Pantone – the color of the year is Ultra Violet. Now I’m a long time fan of purple – but I don’t craft a lot with purple. Why? It’s often tricky to match up with colors and I tend to be a “love it or hate it a lot” when it comes to crafting with my favorite color.

So as we kick off the new year here is my plan. I am going to look for great violet products and I will also look for good color combos and project ideas to share. My hope is to make this a monthly column – and I’ll round up and share! If you have ideas or suggestions I would LOVE to hear them!

As you can see here I am sharing a few of my favorite purple things, but I could use a few more! So feel free to leave a comment or add a note on the facebook group with your favorite products or color combinations! I am excited to kick off the year of ultra violet. Let’s party!

Kicking off 2018 crafting with fireworks!

I’ve mentioned it before – but I LOVE the ever growing offerings in the free ScanNCut Canvas gallery! They have how-to for specific projects, however I tend to take the projects as starting points now and then – and when I do I share with you! Today I’m inspired by a fireworks file that I think will be fun for some Disney vacation pics, 4th of July scrapbooking, and more.

To share more how-to on these particular cards you can check out my YouTube video here. I just love these fireworks designs and I think they could be made to look like flowers as well.

This project sure does kick my New Year off with a bang! How are you doing? Will you have time this weekend? I will be crafting once I’ve gotten us unpacked from vacation and set for back to school. Always busy – but craft time sure does keep me sane.

The usual disclaimer – I am a paid consultant for Brother. All ideas & opinions shared are my own – the ScanNCut is a machine I truly love and that helps me craft my craziest ideas!

Welcome 2018!

A fresh new year is upon us – and while I don’t believe in resolutions (I’m a take action as things come up girl) I do like pausing to reflect on what has been going well and what I’m happy with. I’m excited by all of the new creative projects I have in the works – so I want to mention a few to you today!

I have a new FREE online class available now! You can check it out and sign up here.
