Foiled? Add some ink…

Goal: To be done with any Christmas shopping, and “to mail” crafting before November 1

Can I do it? I’m not so sure but I am falling in LOVE with the idea of doing any shopping very early, then simply sitting back and SOAKING UP the magic of the season. This week at the challenge blog “fall in love” is the theme, and I have to go with my current fixation (aka finishing Christmas shopping super early) and also with the technique used to create this card!

How-to is super easy. Just emboss foil cardstock. Then paint it green (I used some old acrylic paint I had laying around – any would do!). Then scrape off a LOT of the paint. A LOT. Now go to town with alcohol inks to color!

Once all that is done, all you need to do is add some embellishments and give it a good healthy squirt of my favorite perfect pearls mist. Done!

This is a favorite – and one I will actually use to top a gift box and not as a card.

Supplies Used:

Simon is, as always, offering a generous $50 voucher that will be randomly drawn from the eligible entries each week. Join the fun by creating a project this week – and for your chance to win a $50 voucher you should hop on over and join in the challenge here. What will you feature? We can’t wait to see!

  1. Yay for you May! Great goal. Would be so nice to just enjoy the holiday season rather than running around trying to get stuff done. Loving this technique. Will definitely be giving it a try. Thanks.

  2. I am certain you can achieve your goal. If I remember correctly, you made it last year. It is so much better to be able to enjoy the last few weeks before Christmas than to be running around like a crazed person not able to enjoy the beauty of the season and your family. Love the technique you used in this card. I shall have to give it a try. Thanks for sharing

  3. Christmas! Yikes! Thanks for pointing me in that direction with this card. It gives such a great vibe of the shine and shimmer of the holiday season. I’m always so impressed at the range of techniques you know and employ.

  4. What a wonderful Christmas card and I love the techniques you’ve used to create it, it gives such a wonderful finish and compliments the embellishments perfectly! 🙂

  5. This is a great idea May. Love the foil card. Wow!! Just gorgeous. What a fantastic patina it has. I feel guilty. I think I need to start on my own. Thanks for the inspiration 🙂 — Mary Elizabeth
