spotlight | Studio Calico

photo credit for the above photo goes to Melissa Stinson. She has a FABULOUS booth tour over on her site here. So with 3 new collections (and loads of goodies from papers to stickers to wood bits, Studio Calico rocked the show.

Studio Calico… what can I even say? They define style and products that have a trendy edge (while being exceptionally useful) and their service and staff are known for being the best. From the first peek Studio Calico was at the top of my anticipation list… so much so, well…

Stars with maps? garlands? map alphas? *I DIE*

I took very few photos in the booth! insanity! I believe I was just so “oh. wow… don’t even know where to start” that I froze. Or I went by the booth often enough that I thought I covered it but didn’t. I did spend a lot of time checking out the product and the very cool samples too…

I mean, every piece in this line is fantastic. I really like the offerings they have, and I already have several projects sketched out in my mind once I can get my hands on this good stuff. Check out those tiny stars – or this stencil that I’m very excited about for misting but also to use as a template for when I want to do a sunburst kind of design.

Or this one…

Let’s also talk about fabrips. Because you know I LOVE my fabrips…

Which is my favorite? That’s impossible to answer. I love all the paper designs and I love how they’ll work well with each other, and past lines too. That’s one of my favorite things about Studio Calico – the designs are timeless!

(wiping drool from computer screen)

I’m off to work some Fabrips into my Big Picture class now (it starts on the 9th! can’t wait!) – and play with some of my classic calico and kraft alphas for now…

  1. I loved their booth at CKC and the people who work for them are the best! Beyond helpful and they went above and beyond what they needed to, to get myself and a friend in one of their classes at the last minutes. Love their colors!

  2. Hi May, I have just signed up for your field guide class and am very excited. As a beginning scrapper, I cant wait to learn heaps although i will admit weeks 5-8 scare me a little!!!! See you in a week!
