hand cut titles-

As I said in my last post, I love hand cut titles. here’s a page I just made:

Just super simple Making Memories stuff (all except the big button flower- that’s from evalicious.etsy.com)

I didn’t feel like the “art” title stood out enough so I outlined in black pen. Oh and yes, the scratchy look is definitely on purpose. I didn’t want thick/solid lines.

So there’s a sample of a hand cut title. I have so much fun with this technique!

Would you like a Fiskars craft knife + pair of microtip scissors to do your own titles? Just leave a comment here and I’ll draw a winner Monday.

  1. outlining with the pen really did help it stand out – very clever thinking! It looks perfect for this LO. I’m going to try this myself. :o)

  2. May the page rocks I really do love that title and will have to give it a try one of these days!

Going to check on the button also very cute and love to shop on esty!

  3. I love handcut titles also. Friends that I scrap with think I’m crazy to “waste” time, but I love them anyways.

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  4. How cute May! You’ve inspired me again! I have some pictures of my daughter creating her own artwork that would look perfect in that same layout! Unfortunately I’m not very good at handcut titles so I fear it will take me forever to make my “art” look as good as yours does!

  5. Love the page! And the hand cut title is a great touch – like the outlining of it. I’m going to have to try the hand cut title myself as I’m also looking for new ways to personalize my pages instead of just having to stick with the letter stickers I have on hand. Thanks!

  6. I recognized the button flowers from Etsy. I loved those but I couldn’t order any. Maybe I will try to make some of my own.

I never thought handcut titles would look so cute. I have to try that. I just have to get over the whole “disliking” my handwriting. I am trying with each new layout.

  7. I ALWAYS make my own titles!! I love the freedom of making it look however I want and hate the frustration of trying to do a title and realising that you don’t have the right letters in the alphas you have!!!

  8. This page is cute… Miss E is really into her Art (a chip off the ‘ol block)! I havn’t hand cut a title in a LONG time,( but if I had some Fiskars Microtip scissors and a Fiskars craft knife, that would sure help!) Thanks for the tips on doing this project and the chance to win!

  9. Lovely layout!
I love hand cut titles too! I have a Cricut and several font cartridges but find myself cutting titles by hand! Shhh… don’t tell DH, I had to justify the Cricut and cartridge purchase because it went slightly over my Scrap budget!
A Fiskars craft knife and pair of microtip scissors would be very helpful! Thanks for the chance!
Heading over to that etsy shop! Too cute!!

  10. Thanks for the chance to win. I have a really cheap knife that I use, and I’m sure a nice one would make a big difference.

  11. I liked the way it came out! I can never hand make something like that….I am so not artsy!!

  12. I’m a very new scrapper, but already I’ve become frustrated with getting a title to look exactly how I want it to. It never occured to me to cut my own!! Thanks so much for the tip 🙂

  13. I love the wistful expressions on the girl’s faces in your photos and your hand cut title is just perfect for that layout! Even better than using an expensive die cut machine! Thanks for the chance to win!

  14. I’m not sure I could do hand cut titles…but I’m going to have to try. They look great! 🙂 Thanks for sharing the technique with us!
