If you’re a fan of rubber stamps + Julie Fei-Fan Balzer then you’ll need to be watching for these!

These designs would let me have the feel of Julie’s hand carved rubber stamps – without carving them myself!

It is a small release right now – but I’m hoping we’ll see more of Julie’s stamps and designs become sets that those of us who are not master carvers or artists can enjoy.

These are produced by Impression Obsession, and should be available soon at stores and I’m guessing their own website as well.

CHA spotlight: The Crafter’s Workshop

“I’ll take one of each”

That would be me, in the Crafter’s Workshop booth. The designs this show are outstanding – they’ve really outdone themselves!! 99.9% of my stencils get made by this company – there is a reason. THEY ROCK! And I’m not just saying that because I adore both Julie Fei-Fan Balzer and Dina Wakley. Oh and Rhonda Palazzari’s designs are rockin’ my world as well. Seriously, just take a look…

Blog Hop | Balzer Designs “trust your heart” template

Today I’m excited to be a part of Julie Fei-Fan Balzer’s stencil blog hop!!! I am a HUGE fan of both Julie and the Crafter’s Workshop stencils, and I have been working with them in so much of my crafting – LOVE! Her stencils with the Crafter’s Workshop (see them all here) are SO FAB! I’m going to be playing with the ‘trust your heart’ 6″ stencil today.

This stencil would be awesome on a canvas, used as template to cut out the words, with mist, paint, with multi-medium to create a resist… oh my. I have SO MANY ideas for it! Today, I’ll be sharing a layout.

First  I used the herringbone stencil + heirloom blue mister huey to create my background on kraft cardstock. Then I placed my papers + photo and figured out where I wanted the title (aka my stencil). After that I used molding paste + plastic knife over my stencil because I just LOVE the raised look!

I also used the punchinella template + Ranger perfect pearl mist in pink gumball to add a subtle layer of sparkle + color. Oh but my words needed some pop! So I grabbed my smooch ink and went along the letters…

You can also see I used distress stickles (spun sugar) in the heart. The papers + stickers + brads I used for this page are from the Amy Tangerine for American Crafts line.

Seriously just *love* this stencil. LOVE! The other one (if you believe you can you will) is equally awesome. I just love how depending on how you use these, layer them, what mediums you use the results can vary so widely!! I’ve been known to just use the word heart + heart of this one.

I hope you liked my project – and be sure to check out the other ladies that are participating today to see more ideas + projects!!

Thanks to Julie for asking me to participate – you’ll be seeing MORE with these stencils + me for sure!! 🙂 LOVE THEM! Just FYI, you should totally make sure your LSS carries these, or if you don’t have a local store, there are great on-line options. I’ve found a great selection of the 6″ stencils at simonsaysstamp.com, and both 6″ and 12″ stencils at scrapbook.com

note: A while back I made a video for www.scrapbookupdate.com about using these templates + why I love Crafter’s Workshop templates. here’s that video in case you want to see them in action:

another semi-related side note: Julie was one of the AMAZING contributors in my book that just came out (Scrapbook Workshop) – in fact in the ‘see inside’ free preview up on amazon you can see some of the crafter’s workshop templates in play (star and damask – in projects by me some of the last projects shown in preview).
