Pass the Cheer {Give Away}

Seems like I’ve got time for a give-away today. I think I’ll make up a cute little starbucks cup holder (turned gift card holder) just for one of you. I am having so much fun with this little crafty project of mine!

Shabby Chic Crafts was SO generous, I feel like I should share so I’m putting in some super cute tags in there, and guess what else?

It comes complete with a $15 Starbucks card too! If you’d like me to mail this treat to you just leave a comment. I’ll draw a winner on Friday the 18th.

Shabby Chic Crafts

Guess who Shabby Chic Crafts asked to be the December guest designer? This excited girl!

I had fun with a Starbucks coffee holder… {give-away coming soon!}

I played with digital + paper webster’s pages – oh how it accented those lovely tags!

Then I used possibly the cutest Merry & Bright tag ever. Love it + that’s been my saying this holiday season so it’s doubly good.

I finished things off by combining several awesome tags with Studio Calico’s Home Front line. Love the results – and  had a great time with some fantastic products!

See all four projects + a little interview that will be posted here: http://shabbychiccrafts.blogspot.com/ today (Dec. 15)

a 2 movie weekend

It looks like this here.

Which means while I’m crafting, photography = junky so I’m not even gonna try to show that. But I’ll show you this…

We all *loved it*. Totally fabulous. I so prefer the Disney ‘old school’ hand drawn style of animation to the 3-D or so-high-tech-it-makes-my-head-hurt style and so this had points towards it from the get go. But really – it was super cool & fun. E says she’s gonna kiss frogs now cuz she wants to be one. Guess she didn’t pick up on the “go ahead and dream – but be ready to put the hours and work in” message I did from the movie. Oh well.

I also saw this –

and I adored it too. It’s just such a nice glimpse into a period of time for both of these ladies as they find their passion in cooking. Happy, not stressful, and Meryl & Amy were perfect in it.

A 2 movie weekend – that’s a lot for me! I’m back to creating in the dark. Seriously – it’s 3pm and I have to keep my ‘night lights’ on here in the studio!!

The Christmas Program

Miss E had her first school winter program tonight. She convinced me bringing Rudolph was ok. (Note to self: it wasn’t. She messed with him & played his music instead of singing)

She was sooo cute though. All decked out in her signature color (red) and loving it. Too bad the teachers were so disorganized it was like there was no plan outside “the kids will sing. There will be cookies & santa” It was such a mess- nobody knew what was going on. E’s class sang Rudolph like 4x and Jingle bells – who knows I lost count. FYI – I don’t do events that aren’t run right so well. But I bit my lip & smiled for E – cuz it was her night after all!

Then we waited in the weirdest line for Santa. The photo I’m about to show you is what I’d call a money shot.

It’s the kind of photo that I grin while taking.

Because I know – I know – it captured the moment. The kind of thing I love to scrapbook right here. Ready?

Becca hated Santa upclose. She went and ate cookies the moment this was snapped.

May your weekend be merry & bright as ours!

Big change for 2010.

I made a big change in my life this week, a really big change. I want to share with you openly as I can-

I gave my notice at Fiskars.

That’s right – after loading up the last of December’s web content on 12.21.09 I will no longer be working with Fiskars. I’ve learned so much over the last 3 1/2 years working with them, and I take with me experience, friendship, and an even deeper love of the tools they make. I look back at my time and I know I gave it my best at all times and that I brought a lot to the table. With the changes that have been going on, I will confess that I find myself conflicted in opinion with where they are choosing to take the company. I’ve decided instead of fussing over details I can not control to instead leave on a positive and high note.

I know that this is the right thing to do at this point, and I’m embracing this new change as a new chapter in my creative book of life. Here I am today – in studio (purple bag packed) ready for new adventure. What will it be? Will I work with some other manufacturer? Do more freelance? Persue publications print or virtual?

Sure!

Truth is, I’m not sure what new excitement I’ll find. Just that I will keep on creating, LOVING the work I am blessed to be doing, and make myself wide open to new opportunities.

Thank you dear blog readers for your support and for staying tuned to what adventures & crazy antics I’ll be up to next…

Happy Crafting-
