Big change for 2010.

I made a big change in my life this week, a really big change. I want to share with you openly as I can-

I gave my notice at Fiskars.

That’s right – after loading up the last of December’s web content on 12.21.09 I will no longer be working with Fiskars. I’ve learned so much over the last 3 1/2 years working with them, and I take with me experience, friendship, and an even deeper love of the tools they make. I look back at my time and I know I gave it my best at all times and that I brought a lot to the table. With the changes that have been going on, I will confess that I find myself conflicted in opinion with where they are choosing to take the company. I’ve decided instead of fussing over details I can not control to instead leave on a positive and high note.

I know that this is the right thing to do at this point, and I’m embracing this new change as a new chapter in my creative book of life. Here I am today – in studio (purple bag packed) ready for new adventure. What will it be? Will I work with some other manufacturer? Do more freelance? Persue publications print or virtual?

Sure!

Truth is, I’m not sure what new excitement I’ll find. Just that I will keep on creating, LOVING the work I am blessed to be doing, and make myself wide open to new opportunities.

Thank you dear blog readers for your support and for staying tuned to what adventures & crazy antics I’ll be up to next…

Happy Crafting-

  12. You turned the FiskarsCrafts.com from mediocre boring manufacturer website to the source of inspiration. Whatever you will choose to do – great things are ahead of you. You go May! I will be watching you 🙂

  13. Whatever you do I wish you all the best in your future endeavours.

Fiskars was just a stepping to stone to better things. Whatever these may be, if they are crafty I’ll be following.

(otherwise it would feel like stalking you lol!)

    🙂

  14. May! As a fellow Fisk-a-teer I am so sad ;-( but I can understand. May you be blessed in abundance and may you be snatched up – a more hardworking, diligent person will be hard to find. Merry Christmas, bring on the change in 2010!

  15. You are a brave lady and I admire your choice. Good for you – its always hard leaving something behind but its going to me megga exciting for you in the future – I’m sure.

Take care and I’ll see you around the net I’m sure.

    (((HUGS)))

You still are a Fiskateer though – right? 😉

  16. You DO bring a lot to the table and it was the right decision. Can’t wait to see what you do next, but as long as you keep the attitude of loving what you’re doing, you can’t go wrong!

    xoxoxo

  17. I am sure that Fiskars will really miss you, but I am also sure that the next adventure is waiting just around the corner for you.

  18. May you will be missed at Fiskars BUT you will do awesome at whatever you do in the future! You have lots of friends supporting you and will be right here to share whatever the future has for you.

  19. I sure hope you have a great new year and lots of fun in whatever new adventure you persue!! I will miss seeing your work on Fiskars!!! Good luck in whatever you do in the future!!

  20. So sorry to see you go, but, you will still share your creative juices with us here, right???
I have to say, that I have noticed the change in Fiskars and am pretty bummed, that the focus isn’t on scrapbooking anymore. I am a Fiskateer and, it just isn’t the same anymore. I am not all that interested in Sewing and Gardening. I like my paper. :O) Well, I like Sewing too, but, I just prefer my paper. :O) Good luck with your new adventure. You have great talent!

  21. I know that this is what is best for you… but I do hate you a little bit for leaving me. Just know that working with you throughout my journey with you has been amazing – first as founding lead fiskateers and then as partners in crime for HQ. You are an amazing girl and I know that the next year will be great for you. You will truly be missed… ((((((((HUGS!!!!!!!!!!!))))))

  22. Thank you for sharing your journey May. I truly believe that our life here “on earth” is about the journey more than the destination. Am thinking that God has need of your gifts and talents elsewhere, and am excited to hear how this evolves! Blessings on your day. ME
