CHA Winter 2014: Fancy Pants

fp

Fancy Pants released a line this show that I just can’t get out of my head! This line has a lot of travel elements, but it is so much more than that! What I love is the richness of color, and all the details of this line. As You Wish is a first day favorite and I can’t wait to get creating! Let me show you-

fp2

First – check out the library cards. I’m such a sucker ALWAYS for library cards!

But the embellishments continue to be adorable-

fp3

The buttons. Tickets. Ombre + chevron paper?!

fp4

I love that there is pink in this line, but also a lot of greens and neutrals. I feel like this balances it all out and prevents it from being a “girl” line.

fp5

fp6

Oh and the world map paper… LOVE!

fp7

Those edges of nautical accent, the rich patterns – this line has really captured my attention!

fp8

They have lovely samples throughout the booth, of course!

They also have two more new lines (Nautical and Be Different) and for those wanting more orange and neutral colors you might enjoy these.

fp11

I’ll be counting the days until As You Wish releases – and waiting to create with this beautiful new line. I love all the embellishments and lovely designs that Fancy Pants is offering. To see their winter catalog or learn more about these lines you can get information on the Fancy Pants website.

Challenge: Anything Goes!

I may be off at CHA running around and finding the latest and greatest, but I’ve also got to pause and join in the current challenge!

For this card I stenciled  the Chevron with festive berries distress ink, and then I used glossy gel medium and gold paint with the Numbered stencil for some texture. Mounted onto some patterned paper, added some stickers, and we’re set!

Note: the Chevron and Numbered stencils, as well as all of Tim’s new stencils are available for pre-order now!

I’ll be back with more CHA coverage (booths, favorites, and more!) so be sure to stay tuned. In the meantime – why not join the challenge?
50dollar_voucher_600px Simon is, as always, offering a generous $50 voucher that will be randomly drawn from the eligible entries each week. Join us in stamping a project this week – and for your chance to win a $50 voucher you should hop on over and join in the challenge here.

ANYTHING goes – so go have some crafty fun!

New CHA project: Tim Holtz stamps and stencils

269

So it is that time of year – the CHA tradeshow in Anaheim. This is the annual show where manufacturers, store owners, buyers, designers, and other industry professionals gather to share what is new, learn, and more!

This year I will be attending and reporting in here at my blog ALL the latest, greatest, favorite products, and more! I’m excited to meet up with friends, find new creative inspiration, and check out all that is in store. It is going to be an intense and exhausting week! I’ll be filming the Paper Clipping Round Table podcast, attending loads of meetings, and of course snapping THOUSANDS of photos!

Right this minute though, as I walk the floor and get started I have a card to share with you.

264

This card features new Tim Holtz stamps and stencils (available for pre-order now at Simon Says Stamp!) It is definitely one of my favorites – this is a card I made for Tim & Stamper’s Anonymous and I love how it came out. That bit of green in the yellow around the bottle label? Still not sure how I managed that but I love it!

273

I’ve been playing a lot with gears, metals, and mixing my mediums too. For now I’d better get back to my CHA gathering of information and snapping of photos! If you have any requests or things you’d like to see covered please do leave a comment. I definitely take requests and I’ll be at the show all week!

A bat & a pumpkin walked in…

and they wish you a very Happy Halloween!! Here’s a card I created using new Tim Holtz blueprint stamps – LOVE those blueprints!

how-to:

  1. Stamp the bat and the pumpkin onto specialty stamping paper. Color pumpkin in with distress markers + water.
  2. Tear + stitch + layer a 4 1/2″ (orange) 4″ (Green), and 3 1/2″ (book) squares of paper. Ink liberally.
  3. stamp onto kraft paper “Happy Halloween”
  4. Cut out & layer bat and pumpkin and sentiment onto card

It’s that easy, and totally a card that could be produced repeatedly with slight variations. No embellishments needed – just paper + stamps and you know I love that!
