Growing all the things: pretty new CTMH stamps!

DSC_5075

Hey everyone, checking in and today I’ve got a stamp set that really speaks to me. As those of you who read my blog regularly know, I’m moving real slow and am mostly one-handed these days! This isn’t a “better soon” type injury which is hard, but I’ve been focusing on things like beautifying my front yard (slowly, and literally one blade of grass at a time!) to keep things happy and productive.

Close to my Heart has this new stamp set called Lovely Garden and it just spoke to me! I stamped the images with black archival ink, and one huge bonus is that I was able to stamp without any masking or fuss – a must for me right now. Once I had everything down onto watercolor paper I grabbed a few watercolors and a water brush, and got to work (play).

I messed around with adding more and less water, blending out color, and just having fun!  DSC_5051

I added random colors and just enjoyed the process of growing a pretty image.  DSC_5053

Then I mounted it to pink cardstock and stitched a few times. Of course I can’t leave my card alone – so I grabbed some of these beautiful self-adhesive CTMH sequins and added them, as well as a few of my buttons and pearls to the one corner.  DSC_5055

Finally, I added a bit of stickles and mounted onto a white card.

I just love the results, and it felt great to sit and play with colors and such lovely stamps. This particular set really spoke to me as not only a great stamp for card making, but a lovely set for art journaling or scrapbooking as well. Thank you to CTMH for sending it my way – I know I’ll be playing with it more soon. For info on this (or any of their products) you can check out their site here.  DSC_5075

It took a few days to put this blog post together – I’m SLOW moving here – but I’m glad I did because it’s been a lot of fun, and I know it has been a while since I’ve checked in. Have a wonderful weekend!

CTMH: quick card fiesta!

A few weeks ago Close to My Heart reached out to me about creating some projects with their products. I’ve heard of them, but am not very familiar with their products. Looking through their new catalog I was amazed. How have I not purchased their stamps before?! So much great stuff- and I’m delighted to be blogging some projects with their products starting… right now!

The photo above is from Close to My Heart and it got me thinking… I can do that.  I am here and working mostly left handed which is new and slow for me, but I’m getting the hang of it! What really appealed to me about these card kits was that I could do this without any scissors or cutting, I could assemble in moments, and best of all my lack of a functional right hand wouldn’t stop me. These would also be great for making with not as crafty friends, if you’re in a hurry, or just to have ready to go!

I created a video showing me create one of these cards here.

This stamp set (also CTMH) is maybe one of the best stamp sets I’ve had in a long time.

I think this would look amazing with so many different colors – ink to spray to paint! I’m also thinking its a great color for some holiday cards (in a few months!)

I really love that this kit made it possible for me to get crafty on a week when it’s not been possible! Have you used CTMH stamps before? This is all new to me – but they sent me a lovely assortment so I’ll be back with another favorite soon!

Mardi Gras card!

When I first saw this Avery Elle stamp set I knew I had to have it – because it’s the perfect match for my French Quarter kit! I figured today was the perfect day to share this card. It was so fun to combine layering stamps (cut out with my ScanNCut) + embellishments on a card.

The stamp set used is by Avery Elle, and is in stores now. Below are affiliate links in case you’d like to find one for yourself! I’m thinking mermaid colors to pink parties, black and white to anything else you dream up – this will be a fun stamp set to use. For now though, I’m going to keep to my favorite kit (oh the purple love!)

I created these cards with the new Neat & Tangled release. You can get them directly here. You can also now get them at (affiliate link) Ellen Hutson! Here’s a link to the die set I used, and here’s a link to the stamp set I used on both cards.

I’m so loving this cute stamp set – I’m thinking some fun camping projects will be coming from me for sure – but for this week I’m still just really in the Valentine mood!
