a merry (rose garden) christmas ornament

The colors aren’t what you might expect for a Christmas ornament – but for me it works! I just love the combination or pink, green, and gold for a less traditional take on holiday decorating! This ornament was so much fun to make – I keep making them! Here is my video tutorial on YouTube

Rose Garden is one of my new 28 Lilac Lane shaker mixes – now shipping/in stores! Don’t know where to find it? Stay tuned! As I see this mix show up in stores I will be sure to share information with you here.

I just love having a new fun project to create with my embellishments. Especially since this project uses up the empty ornaments I got last year that “someday” I was going to figure out projects for! Got to love using up the stash while having a lot of fun and shaking up the holidays!

What is your favorite holiday color combo? Or are you a monochromatic kind of holiday décor gal?

Altered Christmas Tree

I know it’s only November 1, but I can’t wait any more to share this. You see on a recent trip to Michael’s I picked up a little wood tree. It was ok as it was… but I wondered what some paint and buttons could do to amp it up…

The answer? Results that I absolutely love! I created a YouTube video if you’d like to see my tutorial here.

Looking for supplies? I’ve got links (affiliate) listed below for what I used. This came out better than I hoped – and I can’t wait to add it to the holiday table. I may not be able to wait until after Thanksgiving I like it so much.

The buttons I used are from my new Yuletide Greetings bottle – and in stores now! Including Ellen Hutson.com (Link) – you can find all six new bottles there! Love seeing the line in shops!

I also used green and gold acrylic paint, and sealed it all with crazing medium (EllenHutson.com link). As always, I used PPA adhesive (link) for my buttons. Can’t recommend that enough!

Have you spotted the new bottles in stores? Let me know! I’m so excited to see what you dream up and create- or alter – with them!

card with Coral Reef mix (28 Lilac Lane)

Happy mid-week creative time? Why not! I’m thrilled by the strong response to these new 28 Lilac Lane embellishment mixes – so glad you love them like I do! This one is the coral reef… and not to play favorites but I am so in love with it! (But I’m saying that about all of them!)

I decided to show you how I like to embellish a stamped card with them – hope you enjoy! Here’s a link to my YouTube video.

This works with any mix (or  kit)- and any big stamped image. The key is coming up with a spot or two to add a cluster of embellishments.

I love how this card turned out – so much fun playing with these colors! These mixes are now shipping to stores – I will be sure to send links along as I find shops that have them in stock. Know a store that has them? Let me know!

Candy Corn Frame featuring new 28 Lilac Lane mix

candycorn

Today I am really excited to share with you guys that I’ve added 6 NEW bottles of embellishment mixes to the 28 Lilac Lane line! This is Candy Corn – and while perfect for the season I also think that it is great for any time of year from bright summer fun to just because citrus colors are your faves. To introduce this bottle mix, I’ve decorated a frame and created a YouTube video you can check out.

I just LOVE this frame – and I might have a hard time giving it away because it came out so cute and I love how it looks with the sentiments in the middle!

Here is the full frame – these projects are so fun and of course you know that you can put something similar together with any number of embellishments!

Speaking of fun and embellishments – I will be visiting Stamp Fever in Orange, CA for three BRAND NEW classes November 4-5. I am so very excited about this event – if you’re local please join me! You can find info here and call the store to sign up.

I will be sharing videos featuring each of the new embellishment mixes. For now, here’s a peek at all six!
