I had a few people asking about the “create” canvas I sneaked a peek of… well here it is! It was the perfect project to create for this week’s challenge.
Step 1: use paste + falling snow stencil for texture. Let dry. Then spread thin layer of gesso over it and etch out ‘create’ at bottom.
Then attach a bunch of embellishments. any embellishments. Glue them down good.
Then coat them all in gesso!! Once this dries you’re ready for the final step. No, really!
Use watercolors and gelatos with water and a paintbrush to color your canvas!
I love this style of canvas so much – this was a blast to make and many students kept checking in to see its progress over the two days I worked on it. “Create” was because I wanted to name it for the event – and I left it behind to stay with my lovely friends at Simon Says Stamp.
for the word – I used layers of color medium and pens, then coated in glossy accents for some ‘pop’.

Fantastic textures. sweet falling snow in the background for just a hint of texture. Create indeed!

This canvas is so beautiful, May. I love the great textures and colors you created. Those flower embellishments are gorgeous. 🙂
Very cool! I think I like the third pic stage best because it looks like a frosted cake!
