Simon Says: paint!

I had a few people asking about the “create” canvas I sneaked a peek of… well here it is! It was the perfect project to create for this week’s challenge.

Step 1: use paste + falling snow stencil for texture. Let dry. Then spread thin layer of gesso over it and etch out ‘create’ at bottom.

004

Then attach a bunch of embellishments. any embellishments. Glue them down good.

007

Then coat them all in gesso!! Once this dries you’re ready for the final step. No, really!

011

Use watercolors and gelatos with water and a paintbrush to color your canvas!

I love this style of canvas so much – this was a blast to make and many students kept checking in to see its progress over the two days I worked on it. “Create” was because I wanted to name it for the event – and I left it behind to stay with my lovely friends at Simon Says Stamp.

075

for the word – I used layers of color medium and pens, then coated in glossy accents for some ‘pop’.

  4. Do you have a spam problem on this site; I also am a blogger,
and I was wondering your situation; many of us have developed some nice practices and
we are looking to trade strategies with others, why not shoot me
    an email if interested.

  5. Neato! I saw this processed from pretty much start to finish! Cool to see the published edition 🙂
