Making merry…

xmas

Over at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog we are taking a year-end break from challenges and focusing instead on just sharing some new projects with specific themes. I’m taking part in today’s topic: getting merry with Tim Holtz stamps! For my project I started by using white embossing powder on a background stamp.

Then I used blue and brown distress inks to blend color in – I love this look! From there things came together quickly – stitched edges, a painted frame, and of course, my Christmas greeting.

If you’d like to check out the rest of the projects, they are over at the Monday Challenge blog here. There will be many more projects posted there as we count down to the new year as well.

  1. Completely love the colours on this… the white image against those wonderful blue/greens and then the fab vintage look of the sepia book text and bookplate – one of my favourite makes of yours ever – gorgeous!!

Wishing you and the whole family a wonderful Christmas!

  2. Love the colors on this card! I need to work on incorporating stitching into my projects. You inspire me to try new things – as always!

  3. Oh, May! This is over the top gorgeous. I love to see Christmas in blue, especially this teal color.
Merry Christmas to you and all your family.

  4. Lovely card May, the colours are gorgeous and I love the detail the stitching gives. Lovely design. Happy Christmas May to you and your family. Tracy x

  5. I’m not a big fan of blue and especially at Christmas (even though we have had blue lights outside the last 2 years !) This card is gorgeous. The embossing really makes it special and the hardware !

Merry Christmas May and family !

  6. Wow May! I love your Christmas card using Tim’s stamps. The background is so pretty! That distressed text laying between the background and the ornate plate really adds such great contrast! It really pops the ornate plate and the lovely Christmas stamp in the center. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. <3 Candy

  7. May – hope this post finds you feeling better and on the mend. Do take care. All the best to you and yours for a happy, healthy new year.

  8. I couldn’t let this post pass without saying how much I dig this card! That color palette is to die for and I love how the white-embossed background is combined with those yummy shades of brown and blue. You always have such creative visions and I can’t wait to see what masterpieces you create in 2014!
