One thing that I have learned is that like Jon Snow (Game of Thrones)… I know nothing. Well, not nothing but I certainly don’t know a lot, most of it, or much at all in the grand scheme of things. This isn’t a put down – this is to say I can ALWAYS learn more, and I can always improve. To me that is one of the great beauties of life – we always have more to learn!
Currently I am trying to learn more about video making + editing, photography (always trying to up my game!), writing, and sewing. I also like to dabble in specific techniques and ideas as well for paper crafting. Basically? I’m always looking for new things to learn about and I love adding ideas to my brain. So in the spirit of “craft to school” week, and to support fellow creatives, today I want to share five people who are inspiring, teaching, and generally improving me creatively.
Cathy Zielske – my design knowledge for scrapbooking largely comes from her, and I can’t recommend her classes enough
Chari Moss – rockin card/technique video tutorials regularly. Especially amazing with Lawn Fawn brand products.
Inkwell Press – their posts on social media really inspire me to get up and do more – and I hope to start their podcast soon!
Julie Fei-Fan Balzer – from vinyl basics to art appreciation this girl is always teaching me something new!
Scrapbook.com – this company hosts FREE classes by people you know (and some new to you!) on their site myself included and this has inspired some watercolor learning for me- and I hope to make time for more of the classes!
These are just five that are teaching me these days. Who are you learning from lately? I’d love to hear! Thanks for joining me for “craft to school” week. Next week the kids begin and I think I’m almost ready…
tHANKS FOR BEING SO GENEROUS IN SHARING SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE SOURCES. WITH SO MANY SCRAPBOOK STORES HAVING CLOSED DOWN, THE INTERNET HAS BECOME MY PRIMARY SOURCE OF INSPIRATION AND NEW IDEAS.
Thanks for this list! I’m always looking for new podcasts. I love your mixed media class at scrapbook.com, you are my mixed media go-to! Thanks for sharing. Michelle t
Thanks for the info! There are some amazing resources out there!
You for one, and Cathy Z, I agree she is amazing! And I’ve been taking a few craftsy classes, watching a few youtube videos, and The Mac University has a photo editing class I’ve been brushing up on.
Love the GOT reference! I love continually learning too!
