This week’s challenge (and a tag)

50dollar_voucher_600px The challenge this week: “This is where the cowboy rides away…” Sunsets? Cowboys? Dusty roads and old west towns? Woodgrain and sand? I don’t know! It’s totally up to you and there are soooo many ways you could tie your project into this week’s challenge! Simon is, as always, offering a generous $50 voucher that will be randomly drawn from the eligible entries each week. Join the fun by creating a project this week – and for your chance to win a $50 voucher you should hop on over and join in the challenge here.

I created a video (up over at www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge ) for my entry. Then I got to looking at one of my backgrounds and thinking perhaps I had a stamp (it is in fact, a chemist that I simply chopped off his test tube holding arm…) that looked rather like a blacksmith or bartender or some such crusty old west gentleman…

If you want the how-to I share how I aged the metal bits as well as created the background in my video post (over at the challenge blog today).

  1. I just watched your video at the Monday challenge. I don’t think I will ever be a great artist! You can handle the mess. I have to clean my hands straight away. I have just bought some texture paste so I love what you did on the green tag. I am hoping texture paste is rather close to embossing paste since I am having trouble finding embossing paste in Australia. I think embossing paste has more shine. I will have to play more with it and then wash my hands 😉
