I really love the Pinkalicious books for my girls. She’s kind, imaginative, and marches to the beat of her own drum for sure. I received the latest {Pinkalicious: School Rules!} just before Elizabeth started Kindergarten. PERFECT timing!
In this story, Pinkalicious brings her (imaginary friend) unicorn to school (shown below, eating teacher’s apple) and has to show her around and make sure she doesn’t break rules. I love the illustrations as much as I do the cute stories. I can’t believe we only just discovered the joy of Pinkalicious this year!! I highly recommend all the books in the series – and I love the affordable paperbacks now coming out.
I know a few cute girls who will be getting pinkalicious-inspired Christmas gifts this year for sure.
Speaking of Pinkalicious, my own girl (aka the red queen – but in a good way not creepy Alice in Wonderland way) officially has her own school album.
Michaels carries these (I had NO idea – someone told me at a crop!) and their albums were on sale so this was only $10.99. My plan is that this will hold at least grades K – 6. I’m going to be really picky about what goes in here. I want it to be a more ‘special memories of school’ vs ‘every dang thing I ever did at school’. I will have some 4×6 divided protectors so that I can insert photos + journaling cards right into it to supplement the school layouts I do each year. On top you can see her Kindergarten school photo.
What can I say? School Rules!
Hobby Lobby sells them as well May – so you can always get them on the cheaper side. Cathy Z converted me them from CTMH ones. I love how easy they are to insert the pages and the different size page protectors you can get. You may want to try the 12 by 6 ones for the school album for the things that are longer……
If you’re lucky and you have Big Lots or Tuesday Morning in you area they sometimes carry these at $4.99-$6.99.
we love pinkalicious! I’ve been using these ring binders for a few years and you can never make me go back to those post bound albums! I refuse to commit to a page size or color scheme and will scrapbook whatever I want, in the order I want, and I will have all sorts of page sizes in my big 12×12 album! My twins are in preschool and bringing home some serious paper (I got caught trying to toss a ripped paper yesterday)! This year is pre-k and there are less of the glue beans, macaroni etc to the paper and more alpha practice and writing their names. I just gave them each a plain white binder and started punching every piece of paper they bring home and fill their binders up. OMG these two think it’s the greatest thing, a binder of their very own with their own homework in it. Love the simplicity of being 4!
I might have to look into Pinkalicious for my nieces – love the pictures! Congrats on buying your first ever school album for Elizabeth! I really like Stacy Julian’s “School of Life” concept for school albums
