CHA Winter 2014: We R Memory Keepers

As usual, the We R Memory Keepers booth was *loaded* with new products and offerings from paper lines to tapes to new designs for their letterpress system. Rather than go over everything in the booth, I will be sharing my favorites.

1. Love that they’ve taken the wood trend and mixed it with the pre-made die cut trend to create printed + shaped wood pieces that coordinate with their lines. Here you can see a few of my favorites.

2. They have the only new luggage/storage that catches my eye!

They have two beautiful new shoulder bags + coordinating rolling totes. So tempting to try and justify one (I can’t – but that blue one is just so perfect!) They also have Pocket Page/Project Life card storage.

I like that the drawers could be labeled and that the ones on the bottom could be for photos, and so many tags, die cuts, or other little bits could be stored in those top drawers.

3. Thinking off the page. I’ve said it many times- to thrive in this industry now you have to make products that appeal to a wider audience. I love products like this Flower punch board where you can use patterned paper + a punch to create flowers of various sizes for your scrapbook pages, cards, or as decorations for your home or next party! Above you can see how this product works – just punch & score. Fold. Then customize by curling petals (if desired), adding a stem, or leaving the flower flat.

4. Finally, We R Memory Keepers unveiled possibly the HOTTEST new idea on the show floor.

A series of 4×4 albums, page protectors, and papers all designed to work together and as the title suggest, make an album easily!

What is so appealing about this format is that it is a great size for a brag book or mini album project for an existing scrapbooker. The perfect present for the teenager or young adult who loves instagram and just wants to print + save favorite photos. Or a great project size for someone new to paper crafting who wants a simple start with minimal supplies.

Not only are they cute (and shipping in March!) but useful and I see them appealing to a wide audience.

Without a doubt square things were very popular at CHA this year- but this was the best of the best!

I am already plotting out if I can teach a class and/or create a whole series around this cool new product line. So inspired! I will tell you that you can expect to see these albums at Simon Says Stamp as well as other retailers in March.

Tool | Corner Chomper by We R Memory Keepers

Have you seen the corner chomper? Do you use it? How do you like it?

These are questions I get on a regular basis. The answer is, I have no clue! I didn’t even know exactly what it was until I saw Kristina Werner use it in a card video – and when I saw it I was very curious indeed – I mean, it seems like a big tool just to cut some corners.

We R Memory Keepers sent me one to check out, and I’m thrilled to report that I love it. Today I will explain why, how to use it, and share a card I created using their new Anthology line as well.

The tool has two sides – 1/4″ and 1/2″. You pop open the tabs at the sides (which pop open so you can insert paper and punch perfectly rounded corners, then you can close for storage) – and go!

Above you can see the 1/4″ (left) and 1/2″ (right) cuts that it makes. The really cool thing is that this will chomp through chipboard, transparencies, heavy paper, and even more than one sheet of paper. I created this card using the new Anthologie line – and was able to easily punch the corners with the card closed. AWESOME!

If you’re like me and cut a lot of corners (heh) – this is the tool for you. Yes, it’s a bit big for the little job it does, but it does that job well, and is the strongest corner punch I’ve encountered. You’ll be seeing it a lot around my projects for sure.

This tool is in stores now – I’ve noted that it is in stock at Scrapbook.com, Simonsaysstamp.com, and amazon.com.
