Art Journal play: Tim Holtz Distress Crayons

Distress Crayons by Tim Holtz & Ranger are here, and they’re fabulous! Currently there are three sets of six colors. I’m hoping of course that we see many MANY more colors to come! These are such fun – love playing with them and today I’ve got an art journal page and video to share.

If you’re looking for them – LOADS of shops stocking them. (affiliate links used) including Ellen Hutson, Scrapbook.com, Simon Says Stamp, and Blue Moon. Which set to get? Well it really depends on what you want to do with yours!

Here’s a link to my YouTube video if you’d like to watch me create the art journal page shown above.

I know I’m just on the surface of what these crayons do, and look forward to playing loads more with them! I hope you enjoyed this video – and watching me play and explore in my art journal today.

  1. Great video! Thanks for sharing, and I love your art journal page. Michelle t

  2. I LOVE these new crayons! I got one (spiced marmalade) in the a card kit from simon says stamps and was really impressed by how smooth and deeply-pigmented it is.

  3. Super cool art journal page! I can’t wait to play with the distress crayons. After seeing Tim’s March tag, I ordered one of the sets to play with. Inquiring minds — where oh where did you find the Carpe librum stamp on the opposite page? So adorable! 🙂

  4. Fun! If you hadn’t mentioned, I’d have thought the stamp was meant to look that way. Great page, May.

  5. That is super cool May. I really like that stamp and would never known that wasn’t how it was meant to look. So fun that can use your fingers!
And I love how you liquified the crayon. I really need to get some of these! I’m waiting for an online shop to have both these and some 28 Lilac Lane!!!
I really love the little image on the opposite page too – so cute!
