Kraft wrapping paper + doily + trim + bits and pieces = quick, easy, and lovely wrap. Every time!
I used a bunch of random stuff including clear shapes (Heidi Swapp), paper bits, and a bag ‘o buttons (link to amazon.com) in pastel shades.

I love how this little gift looks and I am sure mama will enjoy not just the wrapping, but the gift inside as well.
Month: August 2015
Studio Q&A time!

It’s not “done”… in part because I still am not pleased with a few elements and in part because I think there will always be change and adjustment in here as I grow and change as a creative person. That said… it’s as close to “done” as this studio has ever been! I made quite a few tweaks and adjustments, and picked up a few things last weekend as well. I’m photographing and working on a video but I still need your help!

What I need to know is, what would you like to see? Organization? General photos? Detailed info? One quick shot like this one is good enough? Do you have a specific question? I have a hard time deciding and a lot of ideas here so any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Now Scrappy, Ranger, and I are back to preparing the children for back to school… this week!
This week’s challenge…

When I think of homegrown summer (this week’s challenge) I got to wondering if I could make an apple or other fruit tree out of the new Hero Arts tree stamps. Some distress ink (and waterproof dye ink for the trunk) later… and the answer is yes! I’ve got an apple tree ready to harvest!
Supplies Used:

I did the apples in Lobster dye ink – LOVING this red! Want to see a tutorial how I’ve been playing with layering ink colors on this stamp? I have a YouTube video up (link) sharing more.
Here’s my finished card-

Now it is your turn! Simon is offering a generous $50 voucher that will be randomly drawn from the eligible entries each week. Join the fun by creating a project this week – and for your chance to win a $50 voucher you should hop on over and join in the challenge here.
last chance for Camp 2015!

On August 13th (Thursday) I will be shutting down registration for Camp Scrap 2015 – this is your last chance to sign up! It is now a self-paced class, and the materials are all there ready and waiting for you. The classroom won’t close – you just won’t be able to sign up for $30 for all four sessions (only single-sessions will remain available) after that date.

Thank you to all the contributors and students who made Camp Scrap 2015 so much fun to host – I truly love this class! There are so many hours of video lessons, and so many favorite new projects (like these sneaky peeks you see here!) and all the lovely and enthusiastic students make the time spent well worth it.

These are just two of the dozens of projects in this class – from cards to layouts to mixed media to tags – the inspiration runs wild in class! To sign up or for more information check it all out here.
May’s Picks: August 2015
A new month, and a new batch of favorites! I’m excited to have so many to share so quickly…
Note: Affiliate links are used whenever possible… it costs you nothing and helps keep the blog running!

Just got this candle from a fantastic person who saw me admiring it… love it! Even better? There’s a whole line of them inspired by authors. Also, this company has loads of fantastic candles. Here’s an Amazon link if you want to check out some of them.
New Kate Daniels book ! I am settling in to read it ASAP. You need to start this (dark, violent, most excellent) series from the beginning…
Speaking of wow, Tessa Dare (aka my fave historical romance author) has another great one coming later this month! I got to read an advance copy and she doesn’t disappoint.
I know it’s early… but Ellen Hutson released a stamp that isn’t just elf… it has some Elf movie nods. You know my affinity for elfin culture! I will need this one.
Another crafty must: Tim Holtz Blueprint Sketch (I just blogged about it the other day – see post here)
Finally on the craft front: totally in love with (and impressed with) the Lora Bailora Etsy shop. She’s got lovely stamps and some really pretty washi tapes too!

Finally, this is what miss Rebecca is getting for her birthday. It’s pretty much the best thing ever (hellloooo gingerbread!) and she is going to flip. Definitely thinking this would make a good Christmas present for the right little lady as well!
What are your favorites right now?
