Countdown to the holidays challenge.

ACK! How is Thanksgiving this week? How is December less than a week away?!

*deep breath*

Well to start off with my planner – which holds everything from gift ideas to things Santa has purchased for the girls to to-do lists to Christmas cards sent – this is my holiday season must have. It keeps me on track and helps me “keep calm and be merry”.

I decorated this quickly with a sheet of Tim Holtz paper folded over, a stamped image (colored with distress stains), and some messy stamping. To keep it closed I tied a button on the front and a bit of trim to the back (that can loop to the front and attach).

I’m REALLY glad I took my plain purple notebook and decorated it because now I’m feeling more festive and prepared! Plus, we all know that some time spent being inky and playing with crafty stuff is ALWAYS good for my mood!

  1. What a sweet patchwork journal! This is such a clever idea and I have tons of lists floating around and should get organized with a beautiful book like yours!

  2. May…your little holiday planner is adorable. I love Tim’s paper that you’ve used to cover your purple notebook. Who knew it was purple!?! The red and white is darling. I also love your blueprint wreath that you’ve added to the front. It’s so simple yet so effective! The added stamping of the holly and flourishes in the corners and the addition of the gold around the edges of the planner looks really good, too! <3 Candy

  3. What a great makeover! Love having a planner with me. And I’m glad to know I’m not the only one who’s not ready for Thanksgiving, let alone Christmas!

  4. Love your planner May, great idea. I am a great fan of making lists to keep, organised but this idea is much more fun and looks great too. Love the papers combined with the imagery. Fabulous festive planner. Tracy x

  5. GORGEOUS organizer, May! I especially love that pretty red button to keep it all together! Organization is KEY to have a little less stressful holiday for sure!

  6. May, this is a pretty awesome planner. And I LOVE that it has a darling closure to prevent accidental sneaking. ;). Be prepared for many “oohs” and “ahhs”. When you pull this out of your bag to check your list twice, everyone’s going to be JEALOUS! It’s beautiful!

  7. I need to make this in January and maybe I’ll have it all together by next Christmas. But the cover would make a fantastic card-it is giving me a serious case of the wants.

  8. So pretty! I like the different images, colors and textures, particularly that wonderful button and the white text.

  9. What a stunning planner! I think I’d be organized if I had a planner that was this stylish! I really love the patchwork-look of the background and how you stamped on top of the patterned paper. And that button makes the perfect little clasp! You are a visionary, my friend, no doubt about it!

  10. Fabulous use of the papers, and I love that tinted wreath. Wishing you lots of luck getting everything done, and Happy Thanksgiving for tomorrow!
