Having such fun with the new exclusives from Simon Says Stamp!
Here’s a fun little card where I stamped onto watercolor paper then colored in (and watered down a bit). I do love cute stamps for the holidays, and this kitty in the pumpkin is TOO CUTE! In my video (from Friday) I shared the inside of my book, now I’m back to show you what the cover looks like all done. I got pretty wild with it.
I used molding paste, stencils, stickers… basically I just played and added texture and color until I was happy with the results.

Now that the book is ready – it’s time to fill it up! I will be back in a week or so with a video + post about the finished book. I had so much fun making this – I’m glad I made the time for this project it is going to be a true keepsake.
The cover in this post features a custom sized letter cut from the ScanNCut machine – so easy and fun! It’s been really exciting to be working with Brother ™ International on this launch, creating projects to share with you and even making some videos that will be on their website in the future.

New week, new challenge! This week we are talking All-Stars. You know, those fantastic stamps (or inks, I suppose!) that are your go-to, your best, your stamps you can turn to for any project!

I went with my Dylusions leaf stamp because I use it TONS. I also combined it with the Memento Luxe inks that I’ve been playing with (and loving!) to create a surprisingly easy home décor piece. I’ll share the how-to with you. I know this is something I’ll be doing more of in the near future!
How-to:
1. Take a wood letter (or shape) and coat with thick white acrylic paint. Use a popsicle stick or credit card to apply paint, leave some areas thicker so that ridges and lines form and create a great texture. Allow to dry.
2. Take 2 colors of Memento Luxe inks and stamp directly onto your letter/shape a few times. Then squirt with water and watch those colors blend, bleed, and run together! Use heat gun to dry or dab away excess.
3. Once dry, stamp with black memento ink (the leaves) and use heat gun to dry. Then use dylusions ink (in water brushes) to color in the leaves.
4. Edge project with black memento luxe ink, heat set.
5. Apply a gel medium (I used Imagine Crafts Creative Medium – but any would work) with a dot stencil. Let dry.
6. Finish by brushing a bit of gold paint over the top of some areas.

It was simple, and while there was a LOT of drying time, the actual creative time was minimal on this project. I love the results- and I’m REALLY loving these Memento Luxe inks for my home décor and “off the paper” projects! I hope you’ve enjoyed this week’s creation.
