challenge: hero

New week… new challenge!! Head over immediately (if you’ve not done so already) and visit Simon Says Stamp & Show – it is “Hero” challenge this week! Whether you’re inspired by a hero in your life, Hero Arts stamps, someone who is an inspiration or whatever – we want to see what you make! The rules + post can be found over there. You want to enter because it is fun, plus Simon Says Stamp gives away (randomly) a $50 voucher each week to one lucky entrant!!! You can get all the details at the blog here.

Supplies Used:

I made a card. Pretty simple – take a no.10 manila tag, fold it up. MeasureĀ + cut a piece of gloss paper that will go over the front/main part and attack it with alcohol inks that you drop onto it while simultaneously squirting with a can of compressed air. Don’t wait for it to hit the card to squirt air at it – squirt air at the alcohol ink bottle as the droplet falls out

It takes a while to get this technique – but oh the splattered fun!! Then just ink up the other exposed side, add some paint and stamping, emboss a bit for your sentiment and bam! Instant fun card.

This is always a week that I reflect on my heroes and reach out to those who are doing great things, in addition to remembering all those who serve our country and those who lost our lives on September 11, 2001 and since that time. I will be art journaling and reflecting more for sure – I use the anniversary of that horrible day as a reminder to stop, be grateful, spread love, and give thanks too. To not hesitate to tell loved ones how you feel and to really make the most of the gifts that you have.

I hope you have a wonderful week.

  1. I really need to get some gloss card stock. That looks like so much fun to do..LOL! Of course the messier the project the happier I am.

It looks like you have the splatter technique down pat. Gorgeous card I love the colors.

I like your attitude also. I do have so much to be grateful for. Sometimes though I need to have someone to remind me to count my blessings.

    Have a wonderful week crafting!
