watching.

FORGET Jersey Shore. I’m over it – thank goodness – and my filthy reality TV show habit has come to an end. Phew. I feel better + more clean now. I’m not going to even look at season 4 – nope. But I have a brand new summer love…

J talked me into giving this show a try…  and all I can say is that it’s beyond funny. In a twisted, man sees a dog as a man dressed in a dog suit but he’s really a dog kind of way.

It’s level of awesomeness might just be too much for some. Or too weird. I know there are “funny” things out there I don’t get, but this one? Gracious. I’ll be glued to this –

You can watch the show on-line or on FX. I’m such a fan – and so far I know very few people who even know about the show so I am doing my best to spread the word. I loves it big time. Let’s just say I watched this VS playing with a new box of not-yet-in-stores scrapbook product OR reading an advance copy of a favorite author’s book tonight. yeah, it’s that good to me…

“Boo Crew” layout

today I’m feeling a bit spooky…

*love* this Halloween line so much!!! I’m a big classic orange + black Halloween girl. So I’m thinking it’s time to share a design team project…

I am loving big paper banners – and the Halloween line from Authentique is a big time favorite with me right now. I’m big on keeping things black + orange with my halloween paper – and with just a bit of distress stickles and touch of ribbon this page came together quickly. love it!

These papers will be in stores soon, and I might just have to work up a Halloween-y class with them too. For more info on Authentique you can visit their website: www.authentiquepaper.com

what a Monday! [prize winner announced]

MELINDA WILSON = winner of the stickles – email me mflaum @ comcast. net so i can send your prize…

It’s a great start to a new week – I can just feel it. So much happening, and CHA peeks are in full swing.

Last week over at www.scrapbookupdate.com I posted an article about Plum [lovely color!] and how hot it is going to be for scrapbooking. it’s everywhere!

Today I woke up to this:

Ranger is releasing ALL of the remaining distress colors in stain form – as well as my favorite distress stickles color picket fence. *tears of joy* I’m SO glad!! I’ve been working with the already released colors and I NEED more. [see their blog post here: http://blog.rangerink.com/blog/2011/07/new-tim-holtz-distress-stains-colors.html ]

I’ve gotten a lot of requests from people to talk more about distress stains + inks + stickles… so you’ll start seeing some how-to, videos, and project tutorials next week.

For today I’m back to packaging up CHA projects, photographing them so I can share here at a future date, and then cleaning up a bit in this messy studio!

Happy Monday…

Peach Sangria

We’ve got peaches… they’re on the tree and they’re RIPE! I wanted to use up a couple overly ripe ones today, and in something other than dessert so I did a search for cocktail recipes.

I’d estimate I drink ONE glass of wine a year. It’s not that I don’t like it… it’s just that I don’t drink it. No real interest I guess. Most wine in our possession is either for a specific dinner recipe, or was a gift. Thinking I could double up and use up some peaches AND a bottle of wine in the back of the pantry I went forward with attempts at a peach sangria.

I saw a number of recipes on-line and I kind of mixed & matched ideas for what I had on hand. Here’s what I did:

I put two peaches in blender and puree along with approximately 3tbsp sugar + 3tbsp HOT water
pour bottle of wine (I used white zin) + puree into pitcher then I added:
about ½ cup peach schnapps
2 more peaches chopped up and dumped in
1 orange in segments (and squeezed a bit as I dropped them in)
8 strawberries quartered
other options I’ve seen (but did NOT do) include adding triple sec liquor, pineapple juice, orange juice, apple slices, other berries.

Chill in fridge and enjoy with or without ice.

Me? I *LOVE* it! so tasty, and sitting here with it so hot outside it’s really refreshing. Just don’t over-indulge!!!
