more kraft giftwrap…

I thought a lot about this one, and ultimately went with kraft. I used paper bags vs actual wrapping paper…

I also grabbed a rubber spatula (thanks Martha Stewart!) at Macy’s to top my gifts, as well as some doilies, kraft twine (ribbon?), orange lace, and loads of tape. When wrapping for a wedding, use TAPE!!! Cards can come loose, things get bumped around… make it secure. It’s got a journey from the wedding to the bride & groom’s home where they’ll find and open it after their honeymoon.

My tag was made with Studio Calico letter stickers (love) which I removed after misting heavily. I also stamped with a memory box butterfly, and added a Girls Paperie star to the very top (using LOTS of tape). It is deceptively simple – this one took me some time and thought to figure out!! In the end I love the way it turned out.

Even better? Jason (aka mr. never impressed) was VERY impressed and commented even. I smiled and said “what’s the point of being crafting as much as I do if you can’t kick some butt in wrapping up gifts?” It gets better – because upon arriving at the wedding my gift SO fit into their whole wine country rustic elegant look.

Score one for the crafter.

  1. Really love the orange and blue combo in just the right amount. Love when something just comes together.

  2. Wow May, who knew a paper bag could look so good! This is just lovely. That little star on top was just perfect.

  3. Very nice. Love the spatula touch. My mom taught me to wrap and decorate with useful items. Heck, shower gifts were wrapped in tea towels or receiving blankets. A bow was made of folder dollar bills like today`s rosettes.

And your decorated kraft paper is wonderful.
