If you know me at all, you know I’m a damask freak. LOVE IT. So when random unknown phone # texted me damask photos this afternoon… I was like… hmm.
LOVE what I’m seeing…
but WHO is this, and how do they know my weakness for damask?!
a minute later another text cam through, revealing that it was my tattoo artist. he’s finally got my design ready to go…
that’s only a tiny sneak. The sketch (img on left) in full? Best damask pattern EVER! Getting it on my shoulder… have been wanting this for years.
To keep this crafty relevant, here are some of my favorite damask things:
Girls paperie patterned paper:
Tim Holtz damask stamp:
Pink Paislee (Ho3) Parisian Anthology paper…
Katie Pertiet’s damask series of digi papers (this is my fave set):
my love also extends to decor & home stuff…
(I think you get the picture…)
What is your favorite design or element? Do you have a signature pattern?
Hi May – oooh – another tattoo??? do show us when/if it happens…. as for me… if I had to pick one “signature pattern” it would have to be a script background… love that look…. have a great day!
I love flourishes and fleur de lis too.
Oh me too! Next time I’ll have to talk about those…
Yes, this is my second. It’s the one I have wanted for YEARS… but since it’s going to be bigger, I did the fleur de lis on my ankle first to be sure I could hang/still loved idea of doing up my shoulder…
I’m a paisley girl
I love Oriental, especially with cherry blossoms or lilies. That is what we have for our living room and dining room decor. I also love Swedish design with lots of white and a bit of blue and yellow. I wanted to do this in our master bedroom, but it ended up more French Provincial.
I just knew you would get a second one, i believe they are a bit addictive, and what a great design, it speaks “MAY” to me.
Ooh you are so brave!! Can’t wait to see it!!
fun post about a deligthful pattern that has stood the test of time
