Girls Paperie 2011: Miss Fashion

As a part of the Girls’ Paperie design team it’s my pleasure to be allowed to work with the new products and create projects and samples for their CHA trade show debut. Today I’m sharing my first project with you – one with the Vintage Whimsy line.

I really love all of the little details and embellishments Margie has added to the Girls’ Paperie this time around – so much fun stuff!!

From lace trims to cameos to rose brads… I just don’t know what part is my favorite. I love the soft colors of this line.

I used gold UTEE (embossing powder) with the stamps for a raised effect on cardstock before cutting out. The rest of the layout is pretty straight forward. The photos are about 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 in size.

All the roses, pink, and polka dots in this line make it such a sweet girl and springtime choice.

Fairy Tales

The girls and I have really been enjoying Mary Engelbreit’s “Fairy Tales”. It’s a bunch of classic fairy tales, told in very short format (just a few pages each) with amazing illustrations. I love that the stories are short (so we can read more than one) but also the images are so detailed it gets the girls talking about what’s going on in the story, etc.

I totally recommend it.

Girls Paperie video peek…

It’s not my best video… but you can see some up close of some of the Girls’ Paperie stuff that is hitting shelves soon. (March?)

I am SO planning classes around these lines… and kits will likely be available if you’re unable to attend. Which line is your favorite?

I love all of them… Kitch proved most worked with, but the other two (Jubilee & Vintage Whimsey) are so awesome too!!!

Tim + Kraft = bliss

Seriously. I love all things kraft. So when I got the email that Tim Holtz had done some cool new things with kraft… and I got to play?! I nearly swooned. I’ll be sharing all my CHA projects with you here on the blog soon – but first here’s an intro video to the lovely kraft that is featured on my projects:

PS – am seriously considering a “kraft” class. Soon as I know when this stuff is hitting stores, I’ll be sure to schedule it!

Creative Retreat peeks…

in just a week Creative Retreat will start!! I can not wait. SO excited for this class – in fact I got to see all of the handouts, emails, and other materials earlier this week to check them out. LOVE it! (I hope you do too!)

Want a teeny peek?

A lot of the materials are delivered via email, but there are layouts, a project, and plenty of idea starters in every week’s handout too. SO MUCH FUN! Like always, I include supply lists and instructions (that include paper & photo sizes). One new thing I did this time around was to put “scraplift this” – ways I could see you pulling ideas from each layout of mine.

Another first? Each week’s handout starts with a step-by-step little fun project. Not just instructions, photos too!! These little projects will have a lot of technique and detail – I really had fun here adding this in.

I hope you liked these two little peeks into class – these shown are from the week #2 handout. Each week really is packed full of ideas, inspiration, layouts, and mostly: the chance to have fun.

If you’ve got questions about class for me feel free to email (mflaum @ comcast.net) or leave a comment here. Want to know more or register? Here’s the link: http://www.bigpictureclasses.com/creativeretreat.php
