the big turkey post.

First off, Happy Thanksgiving weekend!  Whether you’re baking, laying low, shopping in the middle of the night, hanging with family or anything else… make it happy! So this is my big honkin Thanksgiving weekend post. Ready? I’ve even got 2 give-aways snuck in amongst my rambles. Yes friends, I’m gonna ramble because I’ve got a lot of stuff going on I want to share! If you want to stay tuned to my weekend updates you can check out my twitter. I’ll be posting there often!

This (Martha Stewart) acrylic tree stamp has me super happy. LOVE IT! I’m stamping on some cardstock that’s going to be in an etsy kit by Monday. Actually, the first kit I make (holiday inspired) will be a give away right here on this post! (leave a comment!)

It’s the time of year to elf yourself!

We’ve been laughing ourselves silly at all the dances and our faces on those elf bodies. It just doesn’t get old for us silly Flaums. (and yes, that’s our Jake making an appearance. I wanted a 5th face… and his makes the girls cry with laughter)

Here is give away #2. Foul Play isn’t nearly my favorite Evanovich novel, not by far. But it’s light and sugary sweet and a fast read. Plus, Hello. It screams Thanksgiving give-away, so I got a copy to give someone! The goodies behind it come with too.

How cute is this sweet girl??? I took some pics of (Becca’s BFF) Olivia for her Christmas card. This is not one of the better ones- but I just love it anyhow.

I’m confessing now that for the first time I read a Nora Roberts novel. There is mention-itis going on with her name in my world (friends, on blogs…), so I decided it was time to try one. I fell in love with the book jacket (a dangerous thing, I know) and read these stories. I liked having two novels in one book very much, and I definitely enjoy her storytelling style. We’ll talk more about that in December.

This is my finger on molding paste. LOVE the stuff. It adds texture, dimension, and fabulous-ness to any craft project… but it’s like playing with mud so it makes mess. Fun, but work to clean up!

To enter either give away (#1 or #2) just leave a comment here! The prizes stay open until Monday. If you’d rather be entered for just one or the other do let me know. Have a FABULOUS weekend. I’ll be back to my usual crafting adventures by the end of the weekend for sure.

  3. OMGosh I love Evanovich, but I’ve told you that before. Hum… Nora Roberts, huh. I have one of her books sitting on my bookshelf unread. Maybe I should stop being a chicken and just read it.

I want to comment so much but I also don’t want it to ramble on and on. Olivia is beautiful in red. Love it! I want red shoes for my little girl so badly.

And last but not least, Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!

  4. Those elves are fun. Love the dog – might have to include mine this year.
I’d love to win either of your giveaway. I love Janet’s book but haven’t read that one yet.

  10. Happy Thanksgiving! I LOOOOOVE the elf yourself, too! I did it last year, but forgot about it this year. Thank you for the reminder! I just did ours – it is still cracking me up!
I am also loving on the clear stamps in your giveaway – especially the little deer stamp! So cute!
By the way, I just got back from the Twilight movie – I’m a big fan of the book series, too. Have to say that since my expectations weren’t all that high – I really enjoyed it! Definitely cornball at times, but also pretty engaging. It was a fun late night out with girls sort of trip.
    Have a great week!

  11. First of all Happy Thanksgiving. Also, thank you for the chance to win some great goodies. I loved the elves. The Christmas stamp is gorgeous…. and that little girl is just too cute. By the way I could really use that tape runner, Fiskar’s tape runner is the best (only wished I could find them in a store around here). Thanks again for the chance to win some great goodies.

  12. Happy Thanksgiving, May and family….
That Martha stewart stamp looks divine….
I haven’t read a Nora Roberts book in ages, but I do remember that her books were definitely noteworthy…easy reads and just sucked you right into the story.
Thanks for a chance to win.
    Robin

  13. The Elf videos are just too funny!

Nora Roberts has been on my list of reads for sometime now. I like her mystery books – not so much the romance. Did you know she writes futuristic books under JD Robb?

I’m half way through #14 in the Plum series by Janet Evanovich & then have the 3 in-between Plum books – Plum Lovin’, Plum Lucky & Visions of Sugar Plums to read. I have really enjoyed this series. Thanks so much for recommending it.

Love Olivia’s dress. It’s so pretty.

I’ll definately have to look for the MS stamp. It looks so pretty.

Wishing you & your family a wonderful Thanksgiving. Thanks for a chance to win.

  14. Wow May way to put us into the holiday spirit! Sounds like things are busy around your house! I love that picture you took of Olivia! I wish I could get my three to sit still long enough to take a great picture of them. I actually snuck in a photo shoot of the twins during their nap time yesterday! They were both asleep on the couch and I figured it’s the only time they sit still so I started shooting pictures! One of these days I’ll remember to cover up the couch before they go to sleep and then I can really get a good shot. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

  15. Happy Thanksgiving to the Flaum Family !

I love the Elfing ! Just to dang funny to us too!

I’m also a long time reader of Nora Roberts..and I also love book covers..they’ve sucked me in more than once ! That’s how I discovered Debbie Macomber and Jan Karon, I believe..by having such gorgeous book covers!

I haven’t read Foul Play but did just finish last week, Fourteen.

Olivia is a darling! Love holiday dresses and suits for the boys ! Too cute!
I would love to win some Christmas goodies…they would be put to good use by me and the kids!

  16. I haven’t seen this Evanovich yet, is it new? I’ve been reading Edith Wharton and I bet you would love them too! If you like Pride and Prejudice they would really suit you.
happy Thanksgiving and thanks for the chance to win!! Love your elf-y Jake!

  17. Happy Thanksgiving May! May you have a wonderful holiday week/weekend. Thanks for the giveaways.

  18. I love totally random blog posts! That photo is adorable! I need to use modeling paste more often – I’d love to see more of what you are doing with it. Have a very happy Thanksgiving and thanks for the giveaways!

  19. Happy Thanksgiving May! Thanks for the chance to win. Hopefully I will be able to get my computer back up for the weekend. Haven’t had a computer at home since Hurricane Gustav! The contractor was suppose to come Friday (last week) then changed to Monday, came and left – didn’t hear from them yesterday?????? They need to put the trim around new floors (whole house) and touch up the paint THEN I can put my house back together!!

  20. Oooh…greet scrap goodies! Love the Christmas tree stamp, and the Christmas stickers and Fiskars items…so count me in the drawing for both. I’ve never read an Janet Evanovich novel, but love Nora Roberts…she’s got great triologies.

The ELF yourself video is hilarioius! Puts me in the mood to watch the movie ELF, which we do every year since it came out. It’s so exciting that the Holidays are upon us…such a fun time of year and lots of reasons to be crafty! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

  32. OMGoodness! I’ve never heard or seen the “Elf Yourself” thing. How funny is that! Thanks so much for sharing — too cute! 43. Best wishes for a fabulous Thanksgiving weekend! Great blog post – full of fun stuff and pictures. Sounds like you are having a great time crafting. Hubby says that it is time to stay home (I think I’ve been somewhere almost everyday in the past 6 weeks – so I’ll work on cleaning up and trying a few craft items. Your blog and the Fiskars craft site have some great things to inspire me!

  44. May, since taking your class at BPS I have been following your blog and find something great everytime I check in, a neat tip, a great link to some other fun sites, fun pics and now elves, too cute!! 46. I am an avid reader..i read a bit every day. The NR book you are reading is actually from a series of hers…
    THE STANISLASKIS

Taming Natasha (1990), Luring a Lady (1991), Falling for Rachel (1993),Convincing Alex (1994), Waiting for Nick (1997), Considering Kate (2001)

If you like those you will all of her books…some have a hint of paranormal, some are strictly romance and some have mystery to them…here is her site with the list of her series of books so you can check them out if you decide to read more from her
    http://www.noraroberts.com/trilogies.htm

  47. I’ve never used molding paste..but then again…I’m not much of a crafty person!! Interested to see what you did with it!
That picture of Olivia is darling!!! I love her outfit!!! Are you a professional photographer??? or did you take some classes?? You a very good!
Funny, about that Foul Play book…my mother in law tried to get me to read that book this weekend…but I am super anal…I wouldn’t read it because I think it’s like number 4 or 5 out of her 6 books??? (something like that). I like to go in order, I don’t want to miss a thing. I haven’t gotten into her (Evanovich’s) romance novels yet. Maybe this will kick it in!!
Thanks for the post. Hope you had a great Turkey day!
