A little (KP) stamping & fun…

It’s summer here, and I have been keeping to a strict (minimal) work schedule the last three weeks as I’ve had loads of family and friends and good times. I mean I turn my computer on once a day, then turn it all the way off (unheard of!!) until the next day because we’re busy with fun family stuff. Most days I don’t make it up to the studio even! Which is AWESOME, but, I feel ready to jump back into more creative work! I knew just what to kick it off with too.

I am a fan of the Kelly Purkey products for Simon – and I knew I had to use her June/July (sold out) kit for this food truck adventure page…

b

I had SO much fun layering bits and pieces from the kit onto this page about one of our food adventures. There will be several pages about this day, but I wanted to use this kit for these ones. I *love* how Kelly’s products work so well for my style of scrapbooking. This was major fun to make.

b3

My photos are 3×5 on this page – I’ve started printing my iPhone photos that size just to mix it up a bit and because it was the same price as 4×6 so I figured, why not?

The ombre effect on the good life card is so cool – I’m glad I got it used before it got buried in my stash. Can you tell what fun I had playing with this? Oh yes, and one more thing! This layout is my (late!) entry to this week’s Simon Says Stamp & Show challenge “a little stamping” as I finished this layout off with just a little stamping from the kit set.
While our challenge is “a little stamping” – you can interpret that with a small amount of stamping, a small stamp – whatever you like! Be sure to visit the blog to see all of the other creations and to enter. This week’s prize (as always) is a $50 voucher to Simon Says Stamp! The winner is randomly drawn – you can enter by posting to your blog, flickr, or other site too. See the blog for entry details and rules as usual.
I might be late due to my summer vacation – but it’s better than nothing. Plus I had a most excellent time taking my time today, being leisurely and creating something fun. A story I wanted to record and with products I just love. Crafting just doesn’t get bettr than that!!

Before I go – a little birdie (ok, Simon’s instagram account) told me.. simon

Enabler alert… new KP releases came out today! Here are some of my favorites:

You can find all the new exclusive products in the shop – and if you want to pre-order the August/September KP project kit you can reserve yours now too!

A new monthly post…

So cool news – I’m going to be doing a monthly blogging series on scrapbooking for the Simon Says Stamp blog. I do a wide variety of craft projects, but you know scrapbooking will always be #1 for me. It’s cool to get to share some how-to, new products, and also have another reason to scrapbook! This month I’m all about Crate Paper the Pier, layering 6×6 paper, and you’ll find a sketch too. You can find the post here.

Have a great weekend!

June/July KP kit

Hey guys! So Simon Says Stamp + Kelly Purkey released the second (bi-monthly) kit, and it is still available – if you want one I’d grab it up! So as I said yesterday, it has been crazytown here. I’ll spare you all the glam details. But!! You know what I believe, right?

There is never time for crafting. You’ve gotta MAKE the time! So, I turned on the video camera, shut the studio door, and 35 minutes later emerged refreshed, kinda ready to face the day ahead, and with a new layout! mf

Supplies Used:

I am loving this kit – and I’ll be doing more with it for the next several weeks. I am guessing it will sell out soon – so if you want one you can get it here.

Mondays With May + Inspired by challenge

MondaysWithMay

So guess what? Mondays with May is back over at the Simon Says Stamp blog! HOORAY!! I’m so excited to be sharing ideas, new exclusive projects, and generally crafting up a storm with my Simon pals. What could be better? Well this particular Monday I’ve blended the challenge for the week over at the challenge blog with my feature! Talk about multi-tasking crafty fun!

If you haven’t heard, scrapbooker extraordinare Kelly Purkey has a bi-monthly project kit as well as a line of exclusive products with Simon Says Stamp! I was inspired by these, as well as Kelly’s love of travel and good food when I set out to break into this (fabulous, and sadly sold out) kit. The good news on the sold out kit is that a) there will be  new kit available soon and b) most of the items I used on this page are available in the shop individually.KP
Supplies Used:

These white letters are fantastic – I painted over mine to get the pink color!

“We were here” is going to be a favorite stamp I can already tell. Oh and those flat sequins. I can never get too many of those!

I love the colors you use, it’s make the projects so sweet !!!

Love is in the air and Simon Says Stamp has made it even more fun to create projects to show someone that love with their 2013 Valentine’s Day Release. I was asked to create a project using something from this release to share in today’s Valentine’s Day Blog Hop.

SSS_ValDayBlogHop (2)

First, I made a video. I am just checking out, brainstorming, and generally getting inspired by these great new products. [link to youtube]

So first, the card I was working on didn’t work the way I wanted (I made some regretable color choices – haha)

028

That’s ok! While it looks cute in this close-up trust me the finished card wasn’t cute. That is why I warm-up with no pressure though! Just let myself try some ideas, see what happens, then get serious.

Speaking of serious – I’m NOT going to forget my anniversary again this year! So, I made a card…

021

One of my favorite things to do right now is to make a block of loads of little stamps. I just load them all up on my acrylic block and arrange them, then stamp!

031

SO much fun making that card! I could stop now… but as long as I have all these stamps and dies out on my desk…

002

Let’s scrapbook!
006

I had fun using these stamps + dies with the FABULOUS February papers and things in the Simon Says Stamp card kit. This one is one of my faves for sure.

Oh and I’m so madly in love with the little heart dies! I want to make strips of paper (seen below) all day long with them.

Here’s a list of the supplies I used in my projects seen today:

You’ve seen my projects – now Simon has something to say and a prize to give!!

Leave a comment on this blog post and one lucky winner will receive a Simon Goodie Bag (if you know Heidi, it will be a good one!). Simon Says Stamp will draw the winner on Thursday morning 1/31/13 at 9:00 AM EST so be sure to leave your comment by then.

Thanks for visiting! The next stop in the Simon Says Stamp Valentine’s Day Blog Hop is Beate Johns.
