new download!

Well I have just put the finishing touches on my “junk it up: ideas for embellishing your scrapbook layouts” download that is now available on etsy. It’s 9 pages long, and includes three exclusive 1 page layouts + sketches for each. This download is included in the kits (loading soon!) that are for sale, or you can get just the instant download if you want.

There’s a link to etsy on the right, and I’ll be uploading new kits all day!

These are peeks at the three layouts that are on the pdf file. I’m off to make lunch for the girls- then back for a very full afternoon of blog posts, give aways, and BIG cropping!!!

what’s happening?

Some random happenings and good things in the house of Flaum:

* Alphabet stickers from pink paislee. LOVE this font and already used them twice. The SURPRISE to me? I used the butter yellow first. A surprise, but boy was I glad I had these!

* getting ready for the BIG crop tomorrow. Can’t wait to play and give stuff away! (here and at crop!)

* finishing the handout for etsy (‘junk’) and doing some more kits to upload in the morning

* made my cheesy sour cream enchilladas. MMMM. Recipe coming this weekend.

* listening to E watch My Little Pony movies. So cute.

* playing with these scallop punches from Fiskars. Project to share tomorrow.

It’s a short post from me today, but I’ve got a LOT of blogging coming over the next few days… gotta go finish my projects so I can share!!

little Wednesday prize time…

I meant to post this WAY earlier… but forgot! Anyhow one of my current projects is a “junk up your page” download + kits for etsy. For the record- in my studio junk is a term of endearment meaning fun goodies to embellish my page with. I’m WAY into this project!

This is one jar-o-junk that I assembled… many more to come and more info too! Instead of playing soft rock muzak while you wait for me to complete a project to share, how about a give-away? I’m going to go make a special “junk jar” for one of you! It’ll be aqua, green, and pink and super fun. If you’d like to be entered just leave a comment here!

Ok, back to editing stuff for www.fiskarscrafts.com, making kits, and clearing out my studio so I can craft all weekend!!!

sew. sew. sew.

Sewing. I need to tell you that you’re going to see a lot more of it + projects here on the blog.

Genetically I should be able to sew, and I keep telling myself that. I come from a long line of ladies that are bad ass with a needle and thread. I’m trying to tap into my inner sewing goddess, and starting to have a little success. FINALLY I figured out why I’ve never had much success. My biggest obstacle is that I want to go faster, not measure, not pre-plan, etc… and sewing is the opposite. I’ve done quite a few “rogue” sewing projects that planning was minimal on, but my fingers want to make more. So we’re (my brain + my fingers) working on two projects. I am going to try to enjoy the slower paced, more planned type of crafting. Yes, I purchased an apron pattern.

Ok, so I actually bought the pattern a month ago but I’m ready to give it a whirl. While I was in the fabric store today though I got a sudden (mental) smack upside my head that reminded me that I don’t know what I’m doing. So I got a magazine that had simple projects + patterns. Cool. That’s a good start.

I had Rebecca with me and I decided to make her a SIMPLE blanket with satin edge. When I saw the care bear fabric (her nickname is ‘bear’) then I knew I really had it.

So my question to you if you’re reading and so inclined- what sewing tools are must have? I looked at that wall today at JoAnne’s and I could not decide what in the heck I needed, so I’m staying with the basics I already have and will take it one project at a time. I think I’ll start with the blanket… 4 straight lines sounds easier than an apron.

Ooh- and stay tuned tomorrow… I’ve got a prize to upload…
