Sometimes you just want to play with techniques and not a full project. That’s cool! Just save those pieces and leftovers and you never know when they’ll combine to make a new cool project!

In this case, a piece of paper I ‘stamped’ my stencil leftovers onto combined with some embossed and colored sea creatures became this card.

Happy Cinco De Mayo, and happy new challenge day! We’re all about the #5 this week- use five of something, only use five things, or be inspired by the number! Simon is, as always, offering a generous $50 voucher that will be randomly drawn from the eligible entries each week. Join the fun by creating a project this week – and for your chance to win a $50 voucher you should hop on over and join in the challenge here. All the supplies I used are available in their (newly re-designed!) shop as well.

I took my five favorite bright + happy colors of distress and created the background for my card. I also used my picked raspberry distress to create my flowers.

I just love how simple and fun this card was to make – and you know I always love blending up a good distress background. The Hazel & Ruby tape I used brings it all together into a fun card for a crafty friend.

Speaking of blending and distressing – my new class starts soon! If you want more information or to sign up – you can check it out here.

Happy Crafting!

Simon’s May 2014 kit:

The new Simon Says Stamp card kit is out… and oh boy. It’s really boy-ish. Loving the star stencil + distress ink and mini blending tool most especially – but truly so much good stuff here.

So, being the type of gal that I am, I challenged myself to make cards that could be for a guy or girl!

002

This first one? Just paper. Then paper + 1 stamp + stitching…

022

and finally: stamping, stenciling, and some mist too.

I’ll be taking the weekend off from blogging – I figure an Easter break is a good thing. See you next week – have a lovely weekend!

Hello, Mini Distress…

In the short time I’ve had them, mini distress inks have become an absolute MUST in my crafting stash. Today Ranger begins shipping twelve new colors of minis- hooray!

I made this video featuring set #4 – and explaining a bit more why I love these little bits of inky goodness so very much.

I created this card with one of the new sets – loving how great they are and just in time for Easter!

Supplies Used:

Oh but I have a surprise for one of you – I’m giving the three new sets away today!

091

Ranger sent me a set of the new color kits to give away to one of you! If you would like to be entered for the chance to win them – just leave a comment on this blog post! I will randomly draw a winner next Tuesday (2/22) and mail off the three new color sets to them.

But wait, there’s more!

You see just yesterday I opened my newest on-line class for registration and I tell you, timing was just in the stars for this one. It is a class all about distress inks and how I use, love, and absolutely NEED them for my crafting!

Two things I’ve got to tell you about this:

1. I’m going to give-away THREE spots in this class – as well as give away a spot in this class to whomever wins the Ranger Distress Ink sets! (so be sure to leave a comment for your chance to win)

2. Now through Friday April 18th you can register for this class for just $8 by using this link! Using this link will take you to the class info page and give you the automatic discount too. Note that if you go ahead and register, then end up winning a spot I will most definitely refund your money.

I don’t know about you – but I feel like it is going to be a fantastic week for DISTRESS INK play!!!

Thank you to Tim Holtz and my friends at Ranger for the chance to show off these brand new mini-ink pads and give a set away to one of my fabulous readers.

Good luck everyone – and have a great week!
