The stockings are hung, the cookies are baked, and the gifts are just about wrapped! We’re in full celebration mode here in my home – and I’m wishing you all the best, brightest, merriest, and glitter filled holidays as well!
We’re taking the week off from challenges over at Simon Says Stamp & Show this week, but we are sharing holiday greetings and such – and the image I’ve got posted over there is this final gift to go under my tree. I used:
Spritzing a gift with perfect pearls mist adds shimmer and magic without mess or any real dry time since it dries off so fast. For my tag I just colored then inked up and watered down my toy soldier, then of course stamping on a second tag for details on who gets this treasure.
Kraft paper (aka brown paper packages tied up with string) really are one of my favorite ways to wrap!
I wish you all the best for some seriously jolly holidays! I’ll be enjoying some quiet time with my girls and of course delivering a ton (quite possibly literally) of cookies to the fire department, including my new concoction “white chocolate macadamia bars”.
white chocolate macadamia bars:
1c butter cream with 1/2c sugar 1/2c packed brown sugar
then add 2eggs 1tsp vanilla
then mix in 2c flour 1tsp baking soda 1c oats
fold gently in 1c chopped macadamia nuts (or more if you like!) 1bag white chocolate chips
bake 350 in 9×11 (or similar size) pan for 30+ minutes until done.
They’re REALLY tasty! I added the oats in because my batter seemed too liquid-y – I like the texture and taste that adds. Gotta add this to my December Daily book – the third new cookie I’ve made up from this base of “1cbutter + 1c sugar + 2 eggs + 2c flour + 1tsp baking soda” deal. COOL! I love that this time of year has me getting creative all over the house.
Speaking of creative…
