First thing when I get new ink or stamps, I’ve gotta play. Here’s a tag I made during the Camp Scrap crop in San Jose – testing out my new Tim Holtz distress inks for summer:
The how-to is pretty simple:
1. Blend the three distress ink colors into the background. Spritz with water and/or stamp with water for effect.
2. Stamp with archival ink
3. Fill in stamps as desired with dylusions (in water brushes) then mist with perfect pearls mist.
I told you today would be quick and easy! It took me maybe 10 minutes to do this tag.
If you’re thinking… c’mon May it can’t be so easy. Well, I promise it is! Watch for a video coming next week showing the techniques I did here. In the meantime, I hope you’re enjoying Camp Scrap and your July! We’re off to a great start I think.

Wow can’t wait to try stamping with water on distress inks! Super cool idea once again thanks May loving camp!
I have absolutely never even thought of stamping with water. Fun! Is that how you used the map stamp? At first I could not see where that stamp was until I took I closer look. That is so cool and adds so much. You really have that wow factor going on.
Love that tag! The colors are great and the birdie is just too cute! Just got my hands on that stamp set and cannot wait to use it. Looking forward to the video! Thanx for sharing! 🙂
~such a pretty tag!
Did you put the spray inks into the water brushes straight up.
Gorgeous colors, May! I had a lot of fun with this.
Love this tag and the colors. That stamp set is so very cute, too. Can’t wait for the video.
That is just so pretty. Love the colours. When you stamp with water, do you just wet a stamp and stamp it? I’ll have to give it a try
That little birdie is adorable!
Loving your Camp Scrap! Thank you!
