Embossed card for the 4th

I wish all of my fellow Americans a very patriotic 4th – and a big THANK YOU to all those who are (or have) served in the military, as well as a big hug and thank you to you amazing military family members.

It seemed only fitting to share a patriotic project today. I have just the thing! I created a card for someone special, someone that loves the 4th of July more than any other holiday.

How-to? That’s just Core’dinations cardstock (the good stuff that is already trimmed down to sizzix size!) embossed, cut apart, and then sanded. I added a bit of clear crackle accents here and there, as well as a generous squirt of mist and a bit of distress stickles to accent as well. It was so easy – but I really like the look.

I’ll be trying this with more of Tim’s texture fades for future holiday cards. Here are the supplies used:

  1. Oooh oooh, I made some patriotic cards. Will post at BP. Yours is great. Gave me some more ideas for cards for Operation Write Home.

  2. I have some “magic” coordinations paper that is black w/ colored core and I like it ok; but I love the coordinations you are showing with the craft core, wish I could magically transform mine.
