It is Monday June 11, and you know what that means – Camp Scrap is here!
Tune in every day for a new post – you can see the welcome post + basic info for Camp Scrap here, and of course you’re welcome to join the Big Picture community here too.
Let’s get this party started with some confetti burst inspiration! Here is a page I created for the Creative Crop at Big Picture – it was my first attempt at a confetti-like burst:

Since then, I’ve really fallen in love with the idea of the embellishment burst, and I’ve come up with a system that works really well for me!
What you’ll need is some sequins, rhinestones, pearls, tiny punched paper, confetti, or other small accents. Tiny buttons, beads, even brads can work too. The point is that you’re gathering small things of varying size, shape, and material.
I created a brand new layout today for Camp Scrap featuring the tags + buttons of the always fabulous www.shopevalicious.com to share with you:
Also to kick off Camp Scrap – I’ve made a video for you. I am sharing my process for how I’m doing these little confetti bursts, where I’m putting them, and why I love them so much.

I *love* this idea! I have a little container full of little sequin and have always saved it in my craft supply reorganizations…but honestly I had no idea what I would do with it. This confetti burst idea is perfect! I hope I can sneak some time to make some cards! Oh, my mind is spinning with ideas 🙂 Thanks!
Very cool and trendy! Remember those Doodlebug sequins? I still have tons of them LOL It is time to dig them out! I also loved the Evalicious buttons, never heard about them before!

*Love* the idea of a confetti burst using something other than paper dots (which wasn’t inspiring me particularly) — am definitely going to try this! 🙂

Darn! I cleaned out my scrap room about two months ago and got rid of my sequence. This is why my friend never throws anything out!
Cool idea May and I really liked the video showing the process.

I love this confetti burst idea. I think that I will try it on a b-day card.
thanks for doing camp scrap! Today is a holiday in hawaii (kamehameha day), so a perfect time to scrap since i don’t have to go to work!!
Thank you for all of your work that you have put into this event. I have looking forward to it for weeks. I even got out my Camp Scrap stuff when you did it at BPC.
Loved learning about this the last time I saw you. Gonna try it again tonight! Thanks May!
I loved that layout from the CROP, how fun your bursts of confetti are. The new layout for today is adorable. Sadly there’s no sequins in my house so will have to think of something else or wait till I buy some. Thanks for the video it was so helpful and showed how easy it was to do this.
GREAT WAY TO KICK OFF THE CAMP!!!
Love my first day of camp, going to get out all my old confetti. Love the burst of color – Camp is fun Thanks
Thhanks for sharing in detail how you do this I have tried it before but always trying for even size on each side this way will be great to use.
Old micrometer brain is going to have a hard time with this-but darned if I’m not going to give it a try!
Brilliant tutorial and examples thank you. You have inspired me to get scrapping right now on my day off – the housework can wait! Off to find some sequins!!
I love your confetti technique and great video. I love that it can be planned out even to the point of purposely placing certain colors, but also that it is fun like a burst of laughter and probably should not be over thought. Great way to use all the fun little pieces of embellishments. Thank you for sharing.
How FUN! I didn’t find you until today, so I’m already behind! But I will try to get caught up…such a fun layout! Makes me think of fireworks…
finally something to help me get rid of some of these “little sequins etc” i have. so simple…thanks for the reminder!

Wondered what to do with all my sequins. Now I know-lol. Not as much trouble as I had thought it would be to add to a layout or card. You rock, May!
I finally had a chance to dig out a few supplies and make a card! Thank you for the inspiration: http://vegetablog.wordpress.com/2012/07/25/sequin-confetti-card/
