Sunday confessions:

First of all YES – I still do have a few kits available, see the post below this one for more info if you’re interested.

Now, it’s confession time:

1. I fell a bit behind in creating Use Your stash, but I finally got caught back up and class is now 100% complete. LOVE how it came out, and can’t wait for September 2 to roll around so we can start playing! {If you’ve got questions, feel free to ask}

2. That’s my desk right now this minute. It’s scary. I have to clean it NOW, as I have much creative play to make and share!

3. I really want a sizzix big shot. If you know me at all this is SHOCKING, as I’ve never owned any die cutting anything.

4. You know that scary picture of my desk above? Well, that’s the tip of the iceberg. My studio is so scary, my husband won’t even come down the hallway anymore for fear that he might get sucked in by it’s gravitational pull. If anyone goes missing it’s assumed they fell in here. it’s bad.

5. I have yet to put away my purchases from my last scrapbook shopping trip, let alone use them so maybe, just maybe I ought to surf the internet less looking for new scrap goodies, and instead craft more?

6. I found a package of Coconut M&M’s from last summer hiding in one of my sticker drawers today. I love hidden treasure.

7. I just found another package of chipboard I swear I never bought. I’m telling you, chipboard breeds here in my studio. I must have chipboard rabbits or something!

8. When it first came out I purchased Tim Holtz embossing powder and I’ve yet to open it.

9. I don’t clean my stamps. I realize to some this is a heinous crime… I’m sorry. I’m a dirty non-cleaner of stamps.

10. My ribbon is in such a state of disarray, I didn’t even realize my dog had made herself a nest in it. Yes, my 7lb dog nested in my ribbon. I take this as a sign that I need to clean up my act big time.

Now if all that doesn’t scare you, if you’ve got your own craft confessions, and if you want to join me in making the most of your scrapbook stash and having fun with what you’ve got then I suggest you join me in my next Big Picture class. (Info is HERE) I’m not a terribly serious crafter (um, it’s paper + stickers… I’m here for the FUN!), and I don’t have many rules outside enjoying yourself – so if low pressure creative fun is for you I bet you’ll have fun with us. I’m counting the days!!

Shhh, here’s a secret: Looking at my calendar I see that every single day for the next 10 days or so you’ll see new projects from me here. I hope you check back in and enjoy…

  1. I haven’t used anything from my last scrapbook shopping outing, either. I need to print photos for it. Maybe I should upload some photos, instead of browsing the web or ‘tweet’ing. NAH…!!
Hope I can join you in the UYS class. Looking forward to your projects here, as well.

  2. The sizzix is super fun! Mine has Hello Kitty on it and a pink jeweled handle. 🙂 You can get them for as low as about $50 new if you look around. Ritz Camera’s website, of all places, often has them marked waaaay down.

You haven’t seen my craft room, obviously. It’s so scary. I’m working on it, but it’s hard to tell by looking at it.

That’s so cute about your dog. What a pretty nest she has!

  3. Since you confessed about the stamp neglect on Sunday, I’m sure you’ll be forgiven. As it happens, I just unearthed a bottle of Tim Holtz embossing powder too. I’ll have to go search for one of his fabulous video for instruction and inspiration. I’m just about to wrap up my studio clean-up (with a little reorganizing) after Camp Scrap. Scrapping is messy, but so worth it.

  4. I was trying to decide whether to take your class on Use your stash when I saw the link for your blog and decided to check it out. I am glad I did. I didn’t think anyone was messy like me and bought things they never had taken out of the package yet! I don’t feel so bad now that I know I am not alone. See you in class!

  5. I was thinking about signing up for your class. I have tons of stash, paper, ribbon, glitter, cardstock, more paper, I really want to use it!!! I think I’m going to sign up. I can’t wait!

  6. Wow it sounds like you could use a real friend who likes to organize and clean up to come and help you out. I LOVE to shop and find good deals and so my room has lots of things that need to get used. I really should take your class so it help me use my stash.

  7. I’m in your class 🙂 lots of stash to use, and replace for new goodies!!

I bought the MM Slice back in March and love it, although I’ll be buying the Big Shot soon too 🙂

P.S. My space looks more or less like yours right now…

  8. After reading some of these comments, I was glad to see I wasn’t the only one with a natural disaster site doubling as a craft room. I just had a yard sale this weekend in which I literally gave scrapbook stuff away and it doesn’t look like I made much of a dent. Looking forward to your class, May, hopefully I’ll be productive or at least if I’m not, I’ll have a great time!

  9. Your srappy confessional made me laugh out loud! You’re not alone – I’d have a list quite similar and equally shocking, I’m sure. But I wouldn’t call that desk scary – it’s just a sign that a creative force has been at work. I can understand your husband giving it a wide berth, but I’m sure any self-respecting crafter would feel right at home, LOL. You’d better warn Princess though, if she persists in nesting in the ribbons, she could find herself tacked to a layout at any time!

So, why the Big Shot, and not hold out for the Vagabond? Although having seen a pre-sale price here in Canada at $270, I’m loving my Cuttlebug that I got for around fifty bucks a whole lot more! Unlike the old Sizzix machines, the ‘bug is big enough for Tim’s Alterations dies that are out now.

  10. Loving your confessions! 🙂 I have so much stuff I haven’t used. I decided to challenge myself and take one piece of patterned paper, one piece of cardstock, and one package of flair and use them up completely. I have 8 cards and a bookmark done so far, and STILL have leftover scraps. Now I KNOW I have way too much stuff!!!! I need your class!

  11. Catching up on some reading. LOL at this post. I actually posted a very similar picture of my scrap table to the BPS Picture Summer Class Gallery. The assignment was to photograph a collection!

The Sizzix Big Shot??? I am shocked. When I first glanced and saw the picture I thought, “what in the world?”. What changed your mind?

  12. May, you make me feel so much better! That glimpse of your desk is my craft area 95% of the time. Every time that I organize it, it only seems to last until I start working on my next project…although, I do clean my stamps 🙂 You are going to love the Big Shot. I was apprehensive at first, but now I am in love! So many possibilities! Can’t wait for UYS!
